Haven't reviewed a place in a while BUT, a Bohanans is a must! Have been here twice so far, once for our anniversary and once for wifeys birthday! As you can see one was during the Holiday Season and the other was during February! With that being said, let's dive in! First and foremost let me start by saying a reservation from what I can tell is a must. If you do not have a reservation I don't think you can sit upstairs in the main dining area, however you still may be able to get a seat downstairs at the bar. They have stools at the bar and small informal tables there as well. We have only ate in the main dining hall so I will be speaking to that! Ambiance: As expected from any nice restaurant, this place is full of fancy decor, tables and silverware. It's not upscale to the point that you feel out of place but nice enough that you know you're just somewhere special! Dress Attire: The site says business casual, think of it as a Button up shirt for men, dress pants and dress shoes. Anything you'd wear to a meeting! The first time I realized people were dressed more relaxed (Think nice jeans a nice sport coat) so the second time around I personally wore a Nice white t shirt, a cardigan and dress pants with clean white tennis shoes. There were poeple in Cowbow hats as well if you feel so inclined :) The service: As expected the service has been top notch both times. They take into account any requests you make sure as letting them know its a birthday, asking to sit by the window (if they can accommodate), etc. The refills are always coming in, the waiter is always checking in and really makes sure you are having a great time. Absolutely worth every penny I tipped! The Food: Yes you made it to the most important part. What can I say, the food is just Incredible! They start you with a Candied Jalapeño cream cheese with crisp bread that is to die for! It's sweet with heat and not mixed in so you don't have to eat the Jalapeños. Next they bring bread with butter and the bread is always hot and fresh and perfect! As for the entrees we both got steak. The first time around wifey asked for Medium-rare and she didn't seem to like it all that much as it actually came out more rare than medium rare. The second time around she asked for Medium and it came out what we expected to be medium rare, so I suggest ordering a level up on your preferred doneness. I asked for Medium well both times and both times came out cooked to perfection! Make sure you let them butterfly your steak for the best cook! On the top of the steak I got the Mushroom sauce and my oh my, this is a MUST, if you miss out on the Mushrooms then you are not getting the full effect! As for sides we tried the lobster corn, steak fries, mashed potatoes, asparagus and spinach. Of course each side was delicious! The fries were not anything crazy but they were yummy. For me the true standout was the Spinach and Mashed Potatoes, each was perfectly cooked and the spinach was such a compliment to the steak! Keep in mind each side is big enough for 2 people so only 1 of each needs to be ordered! So! All in I have to say everything is just incredible, 2 times we have gone and so far the consistency is amazing, from the service to the food. On a quick not there is Valet parking up front for $10-$15 if I recall, just let them know you have a reservation. If not you can park across the street in the parking garage, you just have to drive behind the theater as the entrance is on the street behind it. Thank you Bohanans for the amazing food, service and memories. We will be back time and time again!

Bohanan’s Prime Steaks & Seafood: A Pre-Show Culinary Delight (with a Few Minor Notes) Bohanan’s Prime Steaks & Seafood proved to be an excellent choice for a pre-theater dinner, perfectly situated across from the majestic Majestic Theatre. Our 5:00 PM Tuesday reservation allowed ample time to savor the experience before curtain call for "Mama Mia," and the restaurant's commitment to accommodating our specific requests made the evening even more special. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Abel, who promptly escorted us to our requested table with a stunning view overlooking Houston Street and the Majestic Theatre. This thoughtful accommodation set the stage for a memorable evening. Our waiter, Juan, and his assistant, David, were exceptional. David’s cheerful demeanor and evident enjoyment of his work were infectious, while Juan’s polished professionalism, extensive knowledge, and attentiveness to our anniversary and theatre schedule were truly commendable. Kudos to the hiring team for assembling such a stellar front-of-house. We began with expertly crafted cocktails: a classic sidecar for me and a delightful blackberry sour for my wife. It’s worth noting that Bohanan’s bar truly excels, a rarity in a city where cocktail execution often falls short. The presentation and balance were impeccable. Our appetizer, escargot, a rare find in San Antonio's predominantly Mexican culinary scene, was a fantastic start, beautifully presented and delicious. For our main courses, my wife chose the macadamia-encrusted red snapper, while I opted for the 12oz prime steak with a lobster tail addition. While my steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, the lobster tail truly stole the show – succulent, flavorful, and highly recommended. The steak was tender and enjoyable, complemented perfectly by a side of sautéed portobello mushrooms. Despite our full stomachs, I couldn't resist a cappuccino. Unfortunately, this was the only minor misstep of the evening. The coffee lacked the desired heat, and the froth was not as velvety as expected. If you're a cappuccino aficionado, you might want to consider skipping the espresso-based drinks. The ambiance of the dining area overlooking Houston Street is a definite highlight. The quieter atmosphere allowed for easy conversation and a more intimate dining experience. If possible, I highly recommend requesting a table in this section. Valet parking was a convenient option for our pre-theater dinner, especially as it remained open later than the restaurant to accommodate Majestic patrons. However, the car retrieval process was somewhat disorganized, particularly given the tight street space. Additionally, a non-patron vehicle obstructing the valet area added to the congestion. Overall, Bohanan’s Prime Steaks & Seafood delivered a truly exceptional dining experience. The attentive service, delectable cuisine (especially the lobster tail), and prime location make it a top choice for a special occasion or a pre-theater meal. With a few minor adjustments to the coffee service and valet coordination, this establishment would be near perfection.
