Camp Post Restaurant - A Delightful Culinary Experience in San Antonio

Camp Post Restaurant in San Antonio, Texas, offers a unique dining experience that combines delicious food with a charming ambiance. Located in a historic building, the restaurant exudes a rustic and cozy atmosphere that immediately transports you to a bygone era.

The menu at Camp Post Restaurant is diverse and caters to a range of tastes. From classic American dishes to Tex-Mex favorites, there is something for everyone. The food is expertly prepared, with fresh ingredients and flavorful combinations that leave a lasting impression. The portions are generous, ensuring that you leave satisfied.

One of the highlights of dining at Camp Post Restaurant is the attentive and friendly staff. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with warm smiles and prompt service. The waitstaff is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to provide recommendations or answer any questions you may have. Their genuine hospitality adds to the overall dining experience.

The restaurant's interior design is tastefully done, with rustic elements that pay homage to its historical roots. The cozy seating arrangements and dim lighting create an intimate and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or a special someone, Camp Post Restaurant sets the perfect ambiance for a memorable meal.

In terms of pricing, Camp Post Restaurant offers good value for the quality of food and service provided. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option in town, the overall experience justifies the slightly higher prices. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion or indulge in a delicious meal.

One area where Camp Post Restaurant could improve is in their vegetarian and vegan options. While they do offer a few plant-based dishes, the selection is limited. Expanding their menu to cater to a wider range of dietary preferences would be a welcome addition.

Overall, Camp Post Restaurant is a hidden gem in San Antonio, offering a delightful culinary experience in a charming setting. With its delicious food, attentive service, and inviting ambiance, it's a great choice for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor to the area, I highly recommend giving Camp Post...

Loved it here when it first opened, but after my recent experience, it’s hard to believe this place is still in business. They definitely won’t be getting any more of mine. I’ll just state facts: We arrived around 6pm in a Sunday and I was really hungry after a long day of work. No guests were on the patio when we arrived yet every single table was dirty. When a staff member noticed we were looking to sit, they cleaned one off for us. the rest of the tables sat dirty with several staff member walking out looking around at all the dirty tables and then return back inside without doing anything about it. It wasn’t until more guests tried to come sit on the patio that a few more tables were cleared for them but the rest remained stacked with dirty dishes the whole time we were there. That’s just our experience of the atmosphere.

Now let’s talk about the food. We order the Camp Plate for 2 and when we it came out, the corn was ice cold, like out of the refrigerator cold and we were missing the sausage. We told staff, who said they would replace the corn but they were just informed they are out of sausage. No one told us this nor did they replace with anything on the plate. She asked if we would like more beef or chicken so I asked for another piece of chicken. The food that we did get was not good. Onions were old, there was barely any beef and the chicken was okay at best. The only thing I somewhat enjoyed were the potatoes. We waited for 20 more minutes and the corn nor the chicken it was never brought out so we left. The meal was almost $40 and we ate a chicken leg and a couple pieces of potatoes. This place is atrocious. So much potential but horrible staff, seemingly no management and extremely subpar food for the price. It’s really sad to see a place with so much potential just not care at all about the quality of their customer service or the food. We will not be back.

Oh, and we were still hungry so we’re went...

Camp Outpost was a pleasant surprise. We decided to check it out while we were in San Antonio. We had the Beef Rib Roast and the Fried Chicken Sandwich, with the Street Corn Fritters as an appetizer. It was all absolutely delicious. The street corn fritters were perfect. You don't need to add the lime on them, just dip them in the sauce provided. Quite good. The beef rib roast came with onion rings that my boyfriend said were the best he's had in years. He enjoyed the beef roast quite a lot. And the fried chicken sandwich was really good too. I didn't care too much for the pickles it came with but it didn't take anything from the flavor. The drinks are canned, so if you get a soda - keep in mind that you'll need to go order more if a can is not enough. Which brings me to the only thing that was missing for me and that is the service from a server. When you order, you are given a number so they can bring you your food to the table but that is the extent of the service they provide. If you want anything else, you must get in line again to order. There's no one checking in good everything tastes and if anything else is needed. Looking back in retrospect I'm a bit upset of the tip charged upfront. I am a firm believer of tipping according to the service and all they did was bring out my food. Be that as it may, the food is quite good. I'd visit again to try something different but I'd be well aware of what to expect next time going in. The parking lot is also very small, if you go when it's busy, you may not find parking. Also, be aware that there are other parking spots that belong to another business. Look at the signs clearly to avoid any issues with tickets or towing. Not exactly sure how they would...

Came on a Friday evening for a party of 6 and there wasn't a wait. I was able to find a table of about 20 outside. You order at the counter, they give you a number, and they bring your food to the table. There's still service at the table if you want to order your food and drinks after you sit down. Service was very prompt as the server quickly came over to explain the menu items and take the drink orders. It was nice outside as there's shade and fans over the tables, there's an outside bar, there's cornhole, and you can see the meats being smoked over the pit. Everything sounded good, so ordered everything from the roasted beets, brussels sprouts, fried pickles, meat plate, outpost BLT, steak & fries, caesar salad, market salad, and several cocktails. Food came out together within 15 minutes. They did a good job of having several food runners bring everything to the table at once. Everything tasted amazing, especially the meats and even more particular, the rotisserie chicken. However, all the sides and salads were equally as good. Both salads had a generous amount of fresh ingredients and were put together nicely. The beets and brussels sprouts were nice appetizers to share. The cocktails had a good mix of alcohol and sweetness. The gentleman smoking all the meats had a lot of passion for his cooking and was happy to talk about the process. Great food and service from all the staff. Wil definitely return to try more items and enjoy eating outside.
