Good morning/afternoon, hope when you receive this email all is good.
I’m writing to you to share my family’s experience during our recent stay in La Quinta San Antonio Downtown. I’d like to start by saying that we’ve stayed in other La Quinta Hotels and I have to say that this one did not come close to meeting our expectations. My wife and my two children decided to go to San Antonio for a few days, March 15-19th to decompress and enjoy some time together during spring break and decided to stay here since we had great experiences in other La Quinta hotels. The following are just some bullet points as to why this hotel fell short of our expectations:
§ Room keys failed multiple times. § Room cleanliness, on day two I went downstairs to inquire about the room cleaning policy due to our room needing to have garbage picked up, towels changed out and toiletries replaced. After that conversation my family decided to enjoy the day out in the hopes that we would return to a clean room. Even though our garbage was picked up and towels were replaced, my wife still had to track down a maid to get toiletries for the bathroom. § Our last night we along with another gentleman got stuck in the elevator for almost an hour. What bothered me the most is that during this time when I called the front desk, I was told that he was aware of the situation and was on the other line with the elevator technician who had left for the evening to try to rectify the situation. After a few minutes of sweating and trying to assure my children that everything was ok, I decided to call the front lobby again and was told that he was receiving instructions from the technician over the phone on how to get the elevator running again and here is where the issue that I have come to play. After thirty minutes in this elevator I realized that no one has call the fire department to notify them of this situation, so there was no regard to the amount of people stuck in the elevator, no regard to the children who endured a traumatic experience and having someone receiving instructions over the phone who is not licensed or possibly authorize to manage a switchboard in an attempt to get an elevator running again. That is unacceptable in my book. What should have happened first above anything was to ensure the safety of the people inside that elevator by calling 911 so that the firefighters could respond quickly to rescue the people inside the elevator and then figure out how to fix the elevator. § Last, but not least, there was no management, even after I spoke with the front desk that night and told them that I expected to speak with a manager, the next morning there was no one available to apologize or even offer any kind of compensation for the experience during our stay.
Even though you have lost a customer, my hope is that you take this opportunity to reflect on this email and find a way...

From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warmth and professionalism that made us feel right at home. Their attentiveness shone through on numerous occasions, always ready to assist with a smile. The front desk deserves a special mention for their helpfulness, whether it was providing directions or recommendations for local dining and attractions to helping with issues we had in our room with a drain. The reason for our visit was a joyous one, as we were in town for our son's BMT graduation. The La Quinta Inn provided the perfect backdrop for this memorable event, offering comfort and convenience that exceeded our expectations. The rooms were well-appointed, ensuring a restful night's sleep after the day's festivities. What truly set this hotel apart was its serene atmosphere. Despite being in the heart of downtown, we were enveloped in tranquility, allowing us to unwind and savor our time together as a family. Safety was never a concern, thanks to the visible police presence that gave us peace of mind throughout our stay. The hotel's location was ideal, surrounded by a plethora of amenities. It's rare to find such a balance of affordability and excellence, but this hotel manages it with aplomb. In conclusion, our experience at the La Quinta Inn in San Antonio Downtown was thoroughly enjoyable. It's a place we would eagerly recommend to others and without a doubt, choose for our future visits. Read moreBefore the ignored fire alarm at 6am. At checkin I encountered polar opposites a super friendly attendant and an inept supervisor. As one who consults business on workforce planning, this supervisor was a textbook reason why promoting based on tenure alone is an awful idea. There was an issue that my spouse made my reservation for me and the property did not want to accept his card as he wasn't present and this was a business trip (same last name and FaceTime is available). I had one card but forgot my travel card. I asked the supervisor to brainstorm with me to come up with solutions but instead he decided there was only one. Refused to bring in a superior once I realized his inability to critically think, problem solve or express any empathy. We both got frustrated and he shut down after I asked to speak with someone more senior. I sat down to try to think of what to do or who I might know in the area and he decided to cancel my reservation. Didn't ask, didn’t notify me just ego, lack of emotional intelligence, and intoxicated on power. It was a charged mess( leaders should difuse drama not ignite it). Finally I came up with a solution to find out he had cancelled my reservation. Me and the attendant were just awestruck that he did that. Unbelievable. He restored it after we both were in shock and another guest was approaching, but it was clearly done out of spite. I asked if he was the owner since he wouldn't call a superior he just ignored me. You will see from my many other reviews that I travel the world. So far this is the worst hotel experience i can recall so far. Back to the fire alarm : the next morning a fire alarm went off super early in the morning. Same supervisor was there just walking the halls saying nothing. No announcement no direction no nothing. It was a false alarm and guest were confused annoyed some walked outside some were standing around looking for guidance that never came. This place is an operational hot messnot to mention...
