Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in San Antonio

I hate to be mean, but this place was horrible. We decided to opt for a shorter drive to this place instead of going to the good Popeye's on 281 so we could pick something up really quickly and then head home. We went and ordered and there were one or two other customers waiting in store, one other eating at a table by the door. There were no formalities or niceties from the servers. Not even a "welcome to church's" or whatnot. Then almost five minutes after we had ordered, one of the servers comes to the counter and addresses each party one by one saying they had been out of biscuits the whole time and they'd forgotten to ask us if we'd like to substitute or wait nine more minutes. So we asked to substitute for green beans and were shortly told they were out of those too. We went through the sides until we got to the corn poppers or whatever which were the third from the end of the list which they had. So we waited longer, but then they said they had run out of spicy white meat and we said to just give us spicy dark meat instead of spicy mixed but that still took forever. We were gonna leave, but we'd already paid. Then a woman came in complaining that she'd been waiting over half an hour for her order in drive thru and how she didn't want it getting cold while they waited on one part of it and I think it was the manager who said that wouldn't happen since it'd been sitting out only ten minutes... The server finally got our food together saying they'd taken out the green beans half warmed and that they'd mixed in non spicy white meat with our spicy dark meat. Then we finally remembered to ask for a receipt and the server said the machine was broken. Then we went home and ate, but the food was obviously not fresh and the spicy chicken wasn't spicy. The best part of the meal, honestly, was when it ended... Even then, our whole family had upset stomachs. Should've just gone to that good Popeye's....

For some strange reason I had a craving for a chicken sandwich churches used to mostly be local so I hit the churches at San Pedro and Bessie 1st walked in to get a chicken sandwich one of the guys behind the counter was picking his nose the other guy was picking his face I turned around and walked out… went out to the Blanco and West Avenue location no one’s picking their nose but I had to wait for like 10 minutes for a girl to counter register the little short chunky chick with the hickeys all over her face and neck. Ordered two chicken sandwiches and I was supposed to be getting some chicken tenders as a welcome to having created an account with church’schicken.com took forever to get the food when I got it it was unbelievable that somebody would load that stuff and serve it to me one of the chicken sandwiches had to bottom buns both of them had the thinnest piece of chicken you can imagine one of them was chilled cold and the three chicken tenders were all breading and have no chicken in them and we’re about 2 inches long. When I mentioned it to the lady behind the counter they got annoyed with an exasperated sigh said they would get back to me I waited about five minutes I was starving to death I ate the damn crappy sandwiches and my breading for “chicken tenders” and walked out…never again will I ever go to a churchs especially this one or the one on basse. None of it looked like any sort of photograph that churches has for advertising. I can’t believe they thought this would pass for chicken sandwiches or chicken tenders do not waste...

This one is the worst by far the normal mistakes of wrong orders is the least of their issues, The window person is the rudest unprofessional person. The manager has been advised he could care less. You can get to the window you will always have a 20 min wait. if you want a 10 piece meal with white meat you will wait 11:00am. 2:00pm, 5:00pm they never have anything other than chicken legs. if they do happen to have white meat the dumb woman acts like your stealing food from one of her children! The last time I went this person because they were out of chicken again i asked for a 10 piece mixed meal with thighs and the rest white meat. She told me that would be $30.00 I asked why? she said well Ma'am real snotty you want special pieces. I said no I don't you still don't have anything cooked it's your mistake not mine. Instead of customer service you get blamed for their inability to run a kitchen. They would do better to run a soup kitchen since they don't serve meat! I won't be back I know Church's chicken is better than this dump hiding behind the big yellow sign. No one here has the ability to run a business, the cowardly manager all the way down to the fat girl at the window. Save your money go to another one or better yet go to...
