The food was absolutely delicious - piping hot, fresh, and with wonderful flavor. It didn't take very long at all to come out. However, the pink-haired lady with glasses at the front counter who took our order was very rude. Questions were answered with either a condescending stare or snide remark, making me feel stupid when I kindly asked her to fix something she had rung up wrong. I asked her for the Greekburger wrap, and she rung me up for a cheeseburger. I asked her if that came in pita, and she said, "... No, it comes in a hamburger bun." To which I responded that I had asked for the Greekburger wrap please, the one in the pita. She then stared at me and said "That one doesn't come with cheese." Feta isn't cheese anymore I guess? Because it definitely comes with feta, which is definitely a type of cheese. And when our number was called to pick up our food, there were multiple orders on the counter, so I asked her "Is this tray number 16?" to which she just stared at me like I had brain damage. Look, I get having a bad day, but that was a little ridiculous, and honestly made me feel self-conscious. I've worked in customer service for food establishments for the past three years and there's really no reason to talk to a paying customer that way when they are polite to you. I loved the food but because of that I may...

I went yesterday after months of not coming but they usually have lunch specials displayed at the register and usually order the triple original gyro with fries for like 16.99. I didn't see it displayed when i went to order and i asked the cashier if they had the triple meat gyro lunch special and she said yes. So i noticed it was a bit pricey after paying and when i sat down i noticed on the receipt i was charged 15.99 for double meat gyro plus an extra of 5.00 for extra portion of meat that was put on receipt. I find it ridiculous to pay 20.00 for triple meat gyro and when i received the gyro all the meat was cut as chunks like the last of meat which was gross and was not triple meat portion either. I've been coming to this establishment for years and never complained because of how close of what a gyro taste like back home in Chicago. I wont be coming back here again. I rather purchase the gyro meat at costco which i have in the past which tastes the same and its cheaper....

Maybe I went on a bad day, but was disappointed enough that I see no reason to come back.

First of all, the to go order was messed up. Whatever, I generally like Greek, so I'll take whatever I get. I ordered lamb souvlaki, and got a lamb sandwich.

I also got the avgolemeno soup. Let me start with that. It was as bland as bland can be. I'm not even sure how to describe the flavor. Salty lemon water with rice on the bottom, basically.

The sandwich was a huge disappointment. The chunks of lamb I got were mostly fat, the tzatziki had no hint of cucumber or dill or any zest whatsoever. Basically just yogurt. The fries were also soggy. This whole meal seemed like it was made by someone who was ready to quit and just didn't care anymore.

And don't get me wrong, I hate sounding like a jerk. I know a lot of work goes into the restaurant business. But for this particular experience I couldn't find a single redeeming factor. Even the woman taking my order had...

I thought the food was good, but as someone who is Greek and cooks lots of Greek food, I couldn't give it 5 stars. I got the chicken pita gyro lunch special. To me, the chicken wasn't very flavorful. They douse it with tzatziki, which was good. It came with a salad, which I thought was very good. All the vegetables were fresh and the dressing was very tasty. I got 2 soups to go, the avgolemono and the lentil. They both tasted like they were from a can. I'm not sure. Summer is not the time for soup, but I wanted to try it anyway. I live in an area in Texas where there is not a Greek restaurant to be found unless you travel 3 hours away. So naturally, I had to stop in when passing through. I'm glad I did. I loved the ambiance. The service was great and the food was good overall.

Disappointing This used to be one of our absolute favorite Greek restaurants in San Antonio. While nothing in Texas has quite matched what we’ve experienced in Chicago, this spot came pretty close, especially with their gyros, fresh salads, and flavorful dolmades. Unfortunately, we’ve recently learned that the owners have chosen to publicly align their business with an anti-“woke” marketplace app, explicitly stating they don’t want support from customers who fall into that category. That was incredibly disheartening to see. We believe great food should be for everyone, and respect should go both ways. So while we’ll miss the food, we’ll be taking our “woke” money elsewhere to a place that values all customers and is proud to serve anyone who walks through their doors with kindness and respect.

We changed things up a little bit for dinner tonight. We stayed within the Stone Oak area and visited @demosgreekfood. You order food and pick up the food at the counter. They only accept cash tips. We ordered the Lamb Souvlaki Plate, which came with Greek salad. We also shared the Sampler, which came with Greek salad, gyro slices, chicken and beef souvlaki, spanakopita, tiropita, pita, and tzatziki. Everything was delicious except the beef souvlaki. It was a bit chewy, but they gave us an extra chicken souvlaki. There was plenty of Greek salad to take home. Definitely couldn’t leave without having a Baklava and Kourabeides, which is a cookie covered with confectionary sugar. They have locations in Castle Hills and Downtown, so check them out!
