Hungry Howie's Pizza — Restaurant in San Antonio

My absolute favorite delivery pizza in our area. Their sauce is fantastic. Their toppings are always consistent and delicious. Their crust is very flavorful. It's not a gourmet brick oven crust, but that's not what they are trying to offer. Their flavored crusts are more than just a gimmick, and add real interesting combinations to their pizzas. Hungry Howie's has one of my favorite deep dish pizzas anywhere. I can't say enough good things about their food. I have never been disappointed with any of the pizzas I've received or with any of their other options like calzones (more of a pizza crust sandwich than a traditional calzone), boneless wings, or bread sticks. If I had to pick a least favorite menu item, it would be any of their desserts. They are alright, but pretty lacking to justify the cost and calories. Speaking of cost, not only are their prices reasonable, but they frequently have amazing cupons available in the local red plum mailouts. Having said all this, I want to reiterate, this is not a gourmet brick oven pizza restaurant. This is just a hands down better version of your standard traditional pizza chain, and they are truly better in every aspect I have experienced. Update on my review The store manager called me back the next day. She was very polite,professional and understanding. She thanked me for my feedback because they are constantly striving to improve their service. I Love Hungry Howie's Pizza! One of the best pizzas in San Antonio. I have been going to this store for the last 3years but today I had the worst customer service. Employees gave me attitude because I asked them to fix my order. I paid for two toppings pizza and got pizza with no toppings. I am not sure if online system didn’t process my order right but it did charge me the right price. Instead of fixing it they gave me a hard time. Then Chris said he will fix it for me. I waited for another 10min and then another employee gave me my pizza with the word:”here you go” like he does a favor for me. They didn’t give me anything for free and I never asked anything for free. I paid for it and expect to get what I paid for. Very disappointed today! You need to do better and train your employees how to provide good customer service instead...

Ordered at 6:07, checked at 6:45 it said they were on the road. 20 minutes later they’re still not here. So I called to see what the deal was, lady on the phone said “well they’re on their way. Should be there any minute.” So to that I said “okay but it doesn’t take 20 minutes to drive two miles” she then replied with attitude “okay, what would you like me to do about it?” Very rude. We’ll see if we order again.

Update: Just took delivery at 7:13 order two pepperonis, got a cheese instead. Pizzas good, just very disappointed with the staff.

Update 8/8/19- changing from 1 star to a 4. I got a call from one of the owners (I believe) this afternoon, he was very respectful and very apologetic for the situation. He explained why it took so long, and advised that I call rather than using the app to order because it’s not always true. He also did comp our full order.
