IHOP — Restaurant in San Antonio

Update 6/2022** Google won't allow me to review this restaurant more than once so I'm adding to a previous review. We came here a month prior and also 6/15/2022. We were blessed to have Angela as our waitress both times. Both times Angela was knowledgeable, polite, funny and provided excellent customer service.We never had to ask for anything because she was proactive with our needs. What impressed me this time is a month later she remembered how we wanted our eggs and how I really like bubbly water. It's really challenging in this day and age to find excellent customer service. IHOP, you should really consider promoting Angela to a trainer. Thank you Angela for taking such good care of us!!!

So it’s been years since I’ve been to an IHOP after a few rough experiences. But this location was new and we decided to stop in. We were seated within 10 minutes and greeted with a smile. Our waitress, Leslie, was very attentive and helpful! The food came out fast and most of it was delicious! I make it a point to never send food back but when I showed Leslie that the crepes were swimming with butter she kindly agreed and had the kitchen remake them. I wasn’t a big fan of the crepes but it could have been the taste of the first ones hadn’t gone away. My husband was VERY happy with the breakfast melt!!! I LOVED the coffee and pumpkin pancakes!! I saw the waitstaff helping each other out and the manager doing the same, even bussing tables! We spoke to the manager about how awesome Leslie was and he was very kind and attentive also! BTW... saw some omelette go out and they were HUGE and looked yummy! I’ll probably try those next! Good job IHOP!!!...

This was my 3rd visit to this location. The first two, I left excellent reviews. Both previously were on the weekend. This was a Monday morning. No one greeted us, waitress was not very attentive. (Would like to mention a different waitress, Brie, when seeing my father in law upset with his order did come and apologize and fix his issue) It took a very long time to get our food. Our waitress said it was because the computer went down or there was a system glitch that put other's orders in front of ours. Her explanation was confusing. My father in law was served the incorrect order & my omelet had onions in it. When she sat down my plate she even said Omelet without onions. Our waitress, instead of accepting responsibility for the issues said it was due to the system glitch. Our drinks were not refilled in a good time frame. By the time my onion free omelet came out, we were done with the other food & ready to leave. Also, it was a VERY windy day outside and the wind seemed to be pushing air up the sewer overflow drain in the ladies restroom which is located right under the toilet paper. So this was causing a horrible smell to be pushed up. My mountain ceder allergies were causing me to cough a lot so I kept excusing myself to the ladies room and GAG! It made it even worse! The waitress never offered the manager to come even though she had to know our trip wasn't going well. SO...first two visits on the weekend- excellent! The third trip and during the week, no good! My husband said we should just stick to the weekends...

Came in with my mom to have a nice quiet dinner, and it was just that, a nice, quiet dinner with us sitting at our table, waiting a good 10 minutes before the waiter came to take our drink order. It being a new restaurant, I asked if I could take pictures with my Nikon camera, said I ran a blog, so he reacted with an odd demeanor. Said it was fine to take some pictures. So I did so.

My mom and I waited and as time went by, more people came in and sat down near us. A waitress helped them immediately. As our waiter came to drop off pur food, I noticed the portions being incredibly small. I thought nothing of it at the time, until we got the check. Seemed overpriced but lesson learned.

I watched as our waiter was keeping an eye on us, as if for waiting for us to hurry up and leave. Thought it odd, but we found out that he was covering for some people in the kitchen. So of course, they were short staffed. They are still hiring from what I've been told and saw a guy filling out an application as we were heading out to leave.

If you want odd service, small.portions at high prices, then by all means, come stop at this facility. I gave them 3 stars for the cleanliness of the restaurant, for them letting me get photos for my blog, and for the amusement that the waiter...
