My wife called a week ahead to let them know we had a birthday dinner to organize. We provided the staff member the number of 14 people and I heard the individual tell us "okay, not a problem, just come in and we will take care of you." We asked again, if we needed to set anything up and were told no. Thus, a week later we went and it was utter chaos. One person to work the counter as well as the drive thru. The person at the counter was cordial and took out order and our drink order. The food came out sporadically, so we had some people with food and some without for a chunk of time. For my stromboli, I asked for no Italian sausage. My father in law asked for a sub to be a certain way (plain and dry with no cheese or veggies). We had to wait 15 min for forks because there were none around the sitting area. Then we had to wait 10 more minutes for plates. Mind you, we were patient, as we understand it is more than 2 people. My stromboli came with Italian sausage, so I sent it back. My father in law's sub came with various vegetables. I am not sure what the problem was, but the person who took our order repeated it to us, so someone is overlooking something. While it was busy and we had to wait some time, we appreciated the effort. My father in law had to send back his sandwich and when they remade it, it seemed a little wilted and sad. When they brought out my food for the second time, they gave me a calzone and not stromboli like I ordered. There is no ice to get, so every time we needed more ice, we had to wait in the front cashier area. If time is short, I don't suggest you go here with more than a couple of people. THEN, as my family (and I) were refilling our beverages, the front cashier lady and the worker (bringing out the food) were talking about us! While I heard bits and pieces, we could obviously tell they were not talking the best about us. Sorry, we brought business to your restaurant. Sorry, we brought more than 3 people. Sorry, we attempted to prepare you for more than 5 people (but we were told twice, it was not a problem). Be careful if you talk about people, ESPECIALLY in a small restaurant that is not too loud. This, really made us uncomfortable, and if it was your family, it would make you uncomfortable. Pros: the food was hot and salad good, the soda was not flat and the dining area pretty clean. Cons: Be weary of time constraints and the number of people you come with, be careful with custom orders because that seems to be an issue, staff seemed friendly but should NOT talk about people they are assisting!. Overall, thank you for the food and satisfactory service; however, even after remaking my food twice (and it still being wrong), I just wanted to leave. Also, it's actually a little pricey for...
Read moreThis place blew my mind the first time I went, but has trended toward average since then. Some things are exemplary, others are appalling, and the rest are so-so.
Atmosphere: Casual. I love finding, in a long list of Italian places which recommend dressing up, this place is a jeans-and-Tshirts lunch/dinner location. Great appeal to the college crowd right across the street.
Prices: Average for a plate is $10. Specials can be as little as $7, and some meals are $13-14. Beware asking for substitutions - they will charge a steep price for that. Want alfredo instead of marinara? That's an extra $3.50. No discounts available, but students get a free tea. (Nope, not fountain drinks. Just tea.)
Speed: FAST. McDonald's fast. If your meal comes with a salad, you get that as soon as you pay. You might have time to finish it before your food comes out.
Service: Hit or miss. Usually pretty good. I've never seen them be rude to anyone, but every once in a while they seem apathetic. People are people. I've been a few times, and my order has always been accurate.
Quality of food: Hot and fresh, although pasta at peak hours can be overcooked. The alfredo sauce has a chalky texture to it, but the bread served with pasta dishes is warm and soft. Most foods are somewhere close to midline; not great, but not bad either. Overall: Good if you're in a rush. Don't expect greatness for quality of food or service (just good), and do expect to pay a bit for it. Not my favorite place, but I like it well enough to go back...
Read moreThis was my first visit here, yesterday (Nov. 15, 2023). It is a quaint looking atmosphere with a good amount of room to seat and enjoy your meal. I ordered the special of that day; which was the Stromboli and side salad. My husband ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo as well as an appetizer of garlic bread. The gentleman that took our order was warm hearted and very friendly.
The small salad had crisp fresh greens, thin peeled lettuce, and bread cubes. We got ranch sauce and all combined it was delicious and rather filling. The Stromboli had great flavor even without dipping it into the marinara sauce. It was nice and hot where I managed to get a decent cheese pull. The outer crust was the right amount of crunch.
The chicken fettuccine alfredo, was rich and delicious. The chicken was tender. The fettuccine sauce tasted perfect. Had a great amount of spices and butter (not too buttery).
The garlic bread slices were lightly garlic buttered. The texture of the bread was just right.
The only thing that made us feel a tiny bit uncomfortable was the gentleman who cleans the tables. We felt a bit rushed because he came to our table multiple times to see if he could take our plates. Which we understand but just felt weird that he only did that with us. Its okay we had food for later since we decided to just pretend we were done. With that said, we do appreciate his dedication and how well he kept the place tidy and ready for newcomers.
We will definitely be back to try out other dishes. Thank you for the...
