Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in San Antonio

The variety of ice cream flavors is good and the available toppings are great. The woman who seemingly runs, manages, or owns the shop is unfriendly. Each time I've gone in, she always interrupts an employee and takes over what they were doing. This makes her the only person making the ice creams AND charging for them which significantly disrupts the flow of traffic and slows the process down. She is also incredibly stingy with the toppings. If I'm going to pay just under $10 ... for an ice cream CONE, she should be more generous with the toppings. I ordered the banana ice cream and I didn't like it. I asked to add nuts and brownies. I wanted to ask for strawberry jelly and a slight chocolate drizzle but she cut me off at the brownie. The brownie was hard and seemed like an old piece of cardboard. I ended up throwing my ice cream away after about 3 bites. I wish I had a better review for you. This was our last visit to this place. It has beenmany years since I eaten At a marble slab. The experience tonight was nothing like what I recall from yester year. Instead the ice cream was almost oily it seemed to be of poor quality. I thought I would share an awesome memory with my children tonight of eating at the yummy creamery. Instead we all agreed we would have been better off going to H EB and getting 1/2 gallon of ice cream, All the different Toppings with change to spare and been more satisfied. Second time in three years visiting this location.

Ice cream is good. Good variety of flavors to choose from. But the prices! Yikes. It was $20 for two bowls of ice cream. Can’t justify this more than once a year for a very special treat. If I were to take my family of 5 there it would be about $50.

Wasn’t busy today when I stopped by. The ice cream was measured and we were told it would be 9oz, on the scale it was 8.7 (could see from behind the counter)…I didn’t say anything. Maybe I should have after finding out the total cost.

I think they’d have more business if the prices were more reasonable. Knocked a star...
