Ken with Offline - As a 15 year plus downtown resident, this is our backyard. With 30 plus years in the hospitality field (now retired) I feel I can bring you real insight into our locations. The good, the bad and the ugly. If we run across a serious issue, I will always go directly to management and not post it. I truly believe you always must give management an opportunity to correct a serious issue. If not corrected and or just ignored, then I feel it is correct to inform the public – professionally. No establishment is perfect. I will bring to you smaller hiccups we may have come across. I will rarely comment on the taste of food – being bad, as that is a very personal thing. My wife and I disagree on taste of food and wine, no one is wrong or right. Now if the food is on fire, burned, under/overcooked to our requests, that would be mentioned. I’m always here for general downtown questions and possible recommendations. Hey, you can find good food at strip centers! We drove out to Ming's at La Cantera to meet friends. Don't judge a book by its color. All four of us really enjoyed the meals. Large portions for the price point. It was about half full, but we had no issues chatting. Not that the dessert was bad, let's just call it different! Rice pudding. One of our peeps ordered an old fashion. Typically, you get a cherry and if you're lucky a Maraschino cherry. It wasn't a cherry and to be frank, none of us are sure what it was. Would we go back, we sure would - food was super. Picture is dessert

Elizabeth with Offline - Upon first arriving the atmosphere was calm and welcoming. We were seated very quickly and given recommendations from the waiter as soon as he arrived. For our appetizers, we ordered the smoked pork belly bun and the crispy shrimp dumplings. The dough for the bun was soft and light, and the pork was cooked perfectly. the dumplings were very light and crispy with excellent flavor. Our entrees were the teriyaki crispy chicken rice bowl and the “ban fan” Ming’s big mix rice bowl. The teriyaki crispy chicken was well seasoned and had a light crispy crust. the only complaint was that the egg was slightly overcooked that we added to the top. the ban fan bowl was a nice variety of cool crunchy vegetables with a century egg. We also added pork belly to that bowl which paired nicely. The fat on the pork was rendered perfectly and was a great addition to the rest of the bowl. The drink we had was the nigiri limeade which had a strong sourness from the lime.

We saw a high rating and being Asian and lived around the globe was expecting good food. Well we order the spicy glass noodles and lo and behold we got a salad with some glass noodles and the protein was given as a side rather than being tossed as part of the dish. If I wanted a veggie dish I would have asked for it. But the sheer in abundance of vegetables was a turn off, and they also included the hard parts of the veggie (end stem bits) One positive was the mixologist and he knew how to do the cocktails. So come here for the drinks and pass on the food. Btw if you are going to call this Asian, at least have one of the cooks be Asian! Btw when you serve food in a bowl ensure you have spoons with them not just chopsticks…. Cafeteria food with an awesome bar.

Honest review our meal was comped by the manager after waiting almost a hour and a half for our food.

I don’t know if our server was new but she was very inattentive and seemed lost half the time. Another server seemed like she was running the entire floor and working hard if I had cash I would have tipped her.

We ordered a bowl and 3 buns 2 kids meals and a beer sweet tea margarita and limeade

When we got there the area was pretty empty.

Our drinks took at least half an hour to get

A hour later my husband and I got our food But they didn’t have my kids soup or chicken tenders ready At that point I decided to leave The manager was kind enough to comp our meal I’m disappointed cause I was excited to try this place The buns I did taste were pretty good My husbands bowl was pretty bland My kids never got their food The century egg I ordered taste like it had gone bad, it had a very fishy taste. So at least if I’m getting food poisoning it will be for free and...
