A decent place to take friends and family or just to grab a bite to eat during a lunch break.
It's a pretty casual place with some nice decor and lighting style. Lots of fun and playful Australian themed items from the coasters to the walls. I liked a lot of the cute puns, especially featured on some of the menu as well since it adds a flair and light energy to the place without taking itself too seriously. The atmosphere is also friendly and simple. There wasn't a wait for us to be seated that day; in and out kind of movements but it didn't feel as though anyone was rushing or being rushed during our visit. Our seat did have a few crumbs but you could tell that they were making an effort to clean up tables as quick as possible to keep up with the steady flow of customers coming in and out with the few individuals present but our utensils, glasses and plates were all spotless.
We ordered the grilled chicken on the barbie w/ asparagus, the sirloin and Aussie twisted ribs and the blooming grilled chicken sandwich. The sirloin was tender and ordered medium / medium well and was cooked perfectly but got cold rather quickly once brought to the table. The ribs also had a similar issue and were a bit sweeter compared to the intended sweet & peppery profile they were aiming for but tasted decent. The blooming grilled sandiwch stayed warm the entire time but was dry and a bit difficult to bite through. The sauce was also quite watery and dripped everywhere but it did have an ok taste and I was able to finish it without any serious qualms. The grilled chicken with asparagus was reported as flavorful and juicy so there isn't much to say about it besides it being good. The sides such as fries, loaded potato soup and veggies alongside complimentary items like the bread and butter were thoroughly enjoyed! I highly recommend the fries personally as they're very crispy and flavorful but the other items come just as highly valued. Overall, the flavor is there for the meals but the main concern was temperature and dryness for a few of the dishes we ordered, yet they were still good.
The staff were attentive and stayed busy attending many tables and patrons. Our waitress we had seemed a bit nervous / shy so we did have some awkward moments (I'm also quite reserved and soft - spoken myself so it probably added on to this more) but she gave great service to the best of her ability, met all of our needs and remained very caring and sweet! We didn't have many if any issues, our orders were correct and she often came to check up on us to make sure we had as comfortable of a dining experience as possible. Customers were more than welcomed and treated with kindness and respect so it was a nice experience from the staff!
It was my first time here so I have yet to try everything from the menu, but with the positive experience I did have, I'd be more than willing to go back and give the food another go and really find what other dishes come with high...
Read moreI recently dined at Outback Steakhouse on Ingram Rd in San Antonio, Texas, and I must say, it was a disappointing experience. We ordered two steaks cooked to medium, but when they arrived at our table, they were well done, completely overcooked. We promptly informed our waitress, who apologized and took the steaks back to have them remade.
However, our frustration grew as we waited for a considerable amount of time, around 30-45 minutes, for our replacement steaks to be brought out. At this point, I had lost my appetite and informed the staff that I no longer wanted my steak. Unfortunately, even the second steak that was brought out for us were still well done, far from the medium done as we had requested.
The situation took a turn for the worse when the manager, Morgan, approached our table. We explained the ongoing issue, stating that both steaks were still overcooked. Morgan seemed dismissive and responded by saying, "Well, I took care of them," implying that we should be satisfied with her efforts. It was clear that she didn't grasp the severity of the problem.
After enduring two hours at Outback Steakhouse, with nothing but disappointment and frustration, we were finally informed by Morgan that we would not be charged for our meals. However, a complimentary meal does not make up for the precious time wasted and the subpar dining experience we had.
The lack of attention to detail and disregard for customer satisfaction demonstrated by the kitchen and management is unacceptable. When a customer explicitly orders steaks cooked to a specific temperature and they consistently come out overcooked, it reflects poorly on the restaurant's ability to deliver on its promises. I expected better from Outback Steakhouse, and unfortunately, this visit fell far below my expectations.
I hope that Outback Steakhouse takes this feedback seriously and takes appropriate measures to address these issues. As a customer, I value my time and expect the quality of food to align with my preferences. It is essential for a restaurant to prioritize consistency and customer satisfaction, which was clearly lacking...
Read moreMy wife and I went on Monday, July 15, 2019. There was 1 hostess and 1 server talking to each other when we walked in so we patiently waited to be acknowledged. After listening to them argue about what we think were the tables for a little over 3 minutes, I finally interrupted their spat and asked if it was ok if we sat ourselves. The hostess and server were taken aback and just starred at us with their mouths wide open. I offered them an explanation, that just letting us walk in and not saying one word to us, the customers who are about to spend $75.00 for two meals should at least have give us a (just a minute folks or welcome to Outback we will be right with you) but we received nothing. The hostess grabbed two menus but still said nothing and the Server said she was sorry and to follow the hostess. We got to our table and still no verbal communication from the hostess. She walked by us several times with other guests and would stare at us until my wife stared back and then she would look away. On the way out a different server said thank you for coming and we thanked her but the hostess looked away and still said nothing until I stopped and told her that her job as a hostess is to greet people and make them feel welcomed, she is not supposed to ignore or make a customer feel uncomfortable. She smirked and finally uttered the words “I’m sorry” to which my wife told her she needed a personality or should think about looking for another job. When we arrived there were only 6 or 7 tables with guests while the rest of the restaurant was empty which would be more of a reason to treat customers with respect. Our waiter was outstanding and the young man who brought us more tea and our leftover boxes was equally outstanding. Management needs to look at who represents them at the head of the house because there are to many places to spend our hard earned money. None of the staff had a name tag which I understand given their attitude and...
