This was our 1st time here and we decided to go on our last day of the spring break vacation, as we had seen over the week, it was quite popular. Jody was our waiter. 1st, he had on dirty bacteria covered black gloves that touched everything. So spread germs, but protect your hands so you don't have to wash? He only had 2 maybe 3 tables. It was not during rush hour or even slightly busy. We were given drinks quickly but he was absent for a lengthy time and didn't get our order what should have been much quicker than the 38+ min. We ordered chips and salsa along with queso. Shocked at how expensive for what typically is free at other Mexican restaurants. Chips and salsa. And SUPER small bowls. Jody was extremely scattered, distracted and gave poor service. We ordered the 1lb beef fajitas for 2. Again. Over priced and super small serving. While waiting on our food we never got a refill of our drinks. No sign of Jody except for spotting him touching and flirting with his girlfriend the hostess. Who also was rude to us when my very pregnant self declined sitting at the high barstool table. Rolled her eyes. Slammed down the menu, removed dirty plates off a table and without cleaning it, sat us there. So fast forward and we're eating. Again sour cream and guac that came with it was literally a teaspoon. Not enough for one taco. I was so shocked considering how expensive this place was. So we're eating the beans and my husband decided to dip a chip in it to eat and as he removed the chip a long hair comes with it from within the beans. We immediately lost our appetite and left a hefty amount of food instead of taking it. We showed Jody who made light of it, removed the plate and said the manager would be over shortly. We wanted to talk to the manager face to face but he never showed. Instead Jody returned and said they would take half off the meal. Ok. Thanks. But we'd like to discuss with the manager the horrible service. This being Riverwalk, one expects WAY better service and food. Like we received at every single other place we ate at. I do not recommend this place at all. Just because it's on the river walk doesn't make it good or worth it. Jody also got the one other table he had, orders wrong. Giving a vegetarian woman a meat dish.... Remove the nasty gloves, learn to give better service and pay attention to the customers! Along with make sure your kitchen staff...
Read moreThis restaurant is not worth it neither for the service, the food, nor the atmosphere. Let me explain why. It’s worth mentioning that it was very early in the morning, and the place was not busy. I had high expectations for this place, but I was completely disappointed. To start, the host who seated us looked annoyed and unfriendly. Once we were seated, it was obvious that none of the servers wanted to take our table. Eventually, one server reluctantly came over and told us he would be helping us. He took our drink order but didn’t return with the drinks until 20 minutes later.
It’s worth mentioning that the table in front of us, which was a family that arrived several minutes after we did, received their chips, salsa, and drinks much faster than we did. After waiting more than half an hour, our food finally arrived, and honestly, it wasn’t good at all. The server only came to our table three times: once to take our drink order, once to deliver the drinks, and once to bring the food. He never checked in to see if we needed anything else.
In the end, we had to track him down just to ask for the bill. And of course, he made sure to ask for a tip.
Lastly, I’d like to address the owners or managers of this place: It would be wise to pay more attention to your staff, as good service is fundamental in a restaurant. I truly believe that if this restaurant weren’t located in such a busy area, it wouldn’t be an option for many people. Providing good service and quality food is essential, especially since customers are making a deliberate decision to dine at your...
Read moreI stepped in a few mins after 8pm on a Monday night and sat on the patio side of the bar, where only 2 others sat. It was not busy. I waited more than 10 mins before I was even acknowledged, at which time I ordered a mojito, chips and roasted salsa, and a shrimp cocktail. I received the mojito rather quickly, but it would be another 20 mins before I saw a single chip. My $2.99 chips and salsa consisted of a cereal bowl of mostly small, broken chips and a ramekin of salsa. The salsa was flavorful, but the portion was ridiculously small. About 5 mins later, I was brought a schooner of shrimp cocktail soup. I had to ask for silverware, and then a spoon, which the bartender could not find a metal version of. So I ended up with a plastic takeout spoon for my cocktail. Although the cocktail sauce was flavorful and spicy, the 6 shrimp drowned in it. There were no large fresh chunks of avocado, just small, mushy bits and pieces. No crackers. The mojito didn't taste of mint (there was none mashed and muddled at the bottom, only 3 leaves mint garnish on top) and was simply a watery blah. While I dined, the bartenders moved the most quickly when they were performing shut-down duties with still an hour left before close. After fishing out my 6 shrimp and emptying my thimble of salsa -- one 1-inch chip at a time -- I called quits on this travesty. I got out of there for $35 for a bad bar drink, 6 shrimp, a handful of chip pieces, and 1/3 cup of salsa. C"mon, man. I know that the Riverwalk is touristy, but if you're going to have Riverwalk customer...
