This dueling piano chain has been in SA for so long that I’m not going to explain the concept. I’m sure there are PLENTY of other reviews that delve into that. I’ll just tell you that this place is an ABSOLUTE BLAST!
They open at 6PM and charge a $10 cover charge and the performers start about 6:30pm. Drinks are $$$ - someone had a Margarita, and another had a Moscow Mule and they were $15 each (remember it is a tourist spot). There is a parking garage and a couple of surface parking lots close by.
I was fortunate enough to attend with a friend who won a Happy Hour Package there. There are cards at the tables that you can fill out to enter to win one for yourself. I’m pretty sure if you fill out the card and give them your digits, you win, because my friend is just not that lucky (that’s right D, I’m talkin’ about you – LOL).
The happy hour package let’s you invite an unlimited number of friends who get in for NO cover charge, each person gets two $1 drink tickets (but there are only a handful of drinks/beers to choose from with these tix – scroll to the end of this review if you want the deets), and an A-OK buffet of taquitos, nachos, chips and queso, etc.
There must have been 6 or 8 performers that night (pianists, singers, guitar players, drummers) so they were able to rotate in and out all night long without a break in the entertainment. They were ALL top-notch entertainers.
Everyone knows that you can put song requests in (and if you include a tip they will probably play it) but make sure you take advantage of what I call “The Mirror Tips.” You can tip them to write anything you want in shoe polish on the mirrors for all the world to see. It can be a silly statement, a congratulatory statement for a friend, or something to humiliate your friend (I chose the latter of course). The comment stays on the mirror until someone tips more than you paid to have it put up there. LOT’s of fun at this place – but pricey and crowded.
I’ll stop rambling now and include the $1 happy hour party drink list as I promised above: Lonestar/Lonestar Light Miller Light Coors Light Well...
Read moreI usually don’t come on here and complain but this place was the worst! And I tried to speak to management and all complaints fell on deaf ears! So my experience was I took my mother and sister to this piano bar. Granted we came on a Friday so there is a cover charge... fine whatever no problem $10 per person. Honestly, the best thing about this establishment was the bouncers! They were the most friendly people. Once we got upstairs we found a table to sit at. As we all know at a bar people are always trying to grab chairs, so I had my foot on a chair for my sister while she went to the bar. A server came to my table ripped the chair from under my foot, I said oh we have one more person with us. She told me, I need to straighten up the chairs, do you understand me? Followed with a dirty look. She proceeded to come up and place menus on the table and slam down the napkins looked at my mom and gave her a dirty look also. She came around again asked if we needed anything I gave her a smile and thumbs up said we are good thank you and she once again gave us a dirty look. At this point I’m beyond upset with paying $30 to get mistreated. We have only been in the bar for maybe 10 minutes!! So I went to complain to a manager. When I asked someone for the manager I again got attitude from yet another staff member. Told em I had a complaint. When I told the female manager what happened and how I should not pay $30 to be mistreated she smiled at me and said sorry I’ll get you another server. I said no we closed our tab and don’t want to spend another moment here and she said oh sorry just let me know if you decide to stay. So needless to say, spent money just to get mistreated and management could care less. I left upset and could have spent that money somewhere else with better staff on drinks. Please do yourself a favor and...
Read moreI want to first off and say that the wait staff was very helpful and great. Here is the reason why I gave a 1 star review. I reserved 2 tables for my wife's birthday online with the sales and events manager Whitney Pitts. I had messaged her through the website and let her know that we had 8 people in our party. I recieved an email back stating that she recommended 2 tables for the party to accommodate all of our guests. After everything was finalized I recieved an email only stating the final price and that I needed to pay it within 48 hours. Once I paid 170.00 I recieved a confirmation email. On the night that we arrived we we only were able to have 4 individuals in our party not pay cover even though in the email contract it stated, "No waiting in line and no cover charge for your contracted number of guests. All guests must give your name or celebrated person's name to receive admission. If your guests forget to give a name at the door and they pay admission, no refunds will be given." When we arrived into the bar area there was only one designated table for our party. The table was barely able to seat 4 let alone 8 as we told them online. I spoke to a manager on duty and she let me know that it was a miscommunication on the event managers part and that they did not have any other available tables. We recieved an extra gift certificate for our troubles which I appreciated, but the night was very hard to enjoy due to the fact that 8 people were crammed into one tiny table. I would just like to get more clarification on who dropped the ball in this situation. Again the wait staff was very professional and helpful as they could be, but I believe this will be the last time I book at this...
