Ordered two specials this morning and the cashier rang it up wrong. She kept overcharging me and, when I asked why the price was wrong, she just kept giving me a blank stare. Finally, I asked to see what she charged and the slip of paper showed a few errors. She then corrected it but kept charging me for a "cup of ice" that was never mentioned. When I asked why that extra charge was there the cashier just stayed silent. The older lady next to her started telling me the price and I agreed but the cashier continued to charge me extra. I asked the older lady why the extra charge was there and she repeatedly told me there was no extra charge and, yet, I was being charged more. The older lady checked and saw the charge and the cashier just stared at her. Finally, the cashier re-rung the order correctly but the older lady grew impatient and started telling me that a line was forming and asked rudely if I wanted the food or not. A comment I found to be ridiculous because the cashier was adamant to overcharge me and never interacted with me verbally. I did not tip and started waiting for my food. Right after that, a man came in saying he had been severly overcharged and the same ladies looked befuddled. I waited for a while and I started watching the area where the tacos come out from the kitchen. Nothing came out but the older lady finally gave me my order from the side of the register. They had purposely let my order sit there to get cold because I refused to be overcharged. The tacos are for my kids and are now probably colder, thanks lady. Since I could tell that there was nobody compotent to complain to, I decided to write this review. I have never seen such a lack of communication at a restuarant in my life. The staff did not even acknowledge their own mistake and it was as if the cashier and older lady were not even coworkers since they never even discussed the overcharge issue with each other.
I have been coming to Ruthies for years and service has really taken a nosedive this year. There are plenty of eateries nearby that work hard to attract customers. I guess Ruthies would rather rip people like me off and waste my time then actually get a order right. That is the last time I ever...
Read moreI've been enjoying breakfast at Roofies for much of the year, mainly because I appreciate their coffee and tacos—though I must mention that their tortillas are excessively thick, resembling pitas more than traditional tacos. Unfortunately, my latest visit was the worst dining experience I've ever had.
The server mixed up my order, giving me a ham and egg taco instead of the potato and egg taco I had requested, which is only about two dollars. To make matters worse, my dining companion received potatoes instead of the ham they ordered. Rather than acknowledging the error, I felt like I was being blamed for it. Honestly, I would have been happy to pay for the extra taco—I simply wanted what I ordered.
Throughout our meal, I was never asked if I wanted a coffee refill, which left me with the impression that we weren't welcome there. When it came time to pay, the restaurant was bustling with customers, yet the woman at the register ignored us while she focused on something else. When she finally attended to me, another employee unexpectedly snatched the ticket from my hand and took it to the back, insisting she would process my credit card there. This made me uncomfortable, so I asked her to confirm the charges before proceeding. Instead of addressing my concern, she became visibly upset, even coming around to shout at me in front of other patrons, insisting that I hadn’t been charged for the extra taco and that she had given it to me for free.
I remained calm throughout, even as she raised her voice. I simply wanted clarity about the charge. It baffled me why she insisted on charging my card in the back rather than at the register where everyone else was paying. Uncomfortable with the situation, I told her I would not be returning.
I also asked for her name, intending to speak with a manager, only to find out she was the owner. With that attitude, I think she risks losing more customers than she gains. I should have been the one upset, given how I was treated. I simply wanted to understand the situation regarding my credit card. In the end, I decided that I could do without their overly thick tortillas and the...
Read moreHORRIBLE MANAGEMENT - I would like to begin by saying we have been customers for more than 6 years. I could have gotten my breakfast from a franchise but i wanted to SUPPORT LOCAL Businesses diring COVID-19 and we drove half an hour to this that was our favorite breakfast restaurant. The staff at the drive thru window is wonderful. We got a wrong order which happens and I understand. Unfortunately we live very far away and since we trusted this restaurant we didn't check our order. When we got home it was the wrong order given to us. We called politely to let the restaurant know ..we didn't even ask for a manager but the person answering the phone transfer us directly. As we were explaining to the manager he kept correcting us, and asking who got down and when at what time. I told him I had my order receipt numbers, and explained we lived far away if we could get credit for next time we were In the area. He wanted me to take the order back asap. Which I don't have the time because like many people i work from home, I just gotten out from the doctor with my two small children. Without me being defensive he yelled at me, refused to give me his name, cursed and hung up and he never apologized which is something that is BASIC customer service skills. I was upset and called back and asked who ever answer for the managers name. Because in years of going there I have never had an issue, and as a woman, it is disgusting to be cursed and hung up at with no reason. The man that answered refused to give me the managers name (Which on every business, restaurant or not it is your right as a customer to be given that information) I asked him why and guess what, I got hung up again! No respect not only for customers but BASIC human being courtesy. No wonder the world is so messed up when people have no BASIC respect and BASIC politeness. Dear manager whoever you are lol Which is easy to find out btw....i really hope you stop being such a bully and own up to your actions by not hiding behind the counter. Thank you...
