Been to Sam's a few times and always had a good experience, but then I never tried to reserve a booth. I did do that recently and had a terrible experience. The booths at Sam's are the horseshoe shaped kind with plush seats. Those are the only booths Ive ever seen. We paid over 100$ (with taxes and fees) for a booth expecting one like I mentioned. When we got there we were shown to a platform with a bench and table. The platform was at least 18 inches off the ground and the floor in front of it is a ramp. It is awkward bordering on dangerous to get in and out of. Also, the view from this booth was mostly of the walls of the bar and a curtain blocking the stage. Their FAQ says booths seat 1-6 people, we were a part of 4 and couldn't all fit without at least one of us having to sit on the very edge of the bench. When we tried to seek resolution from the manager we were met with mostly silence, some shoulder shrugging and a lot of "there's nothing I can do". When we offerred some reasonable suggestions, the manager became argumentative. Had he offerred a simple apology for the inconvenience and given us contact info of whom to contact, that would have been the end of it. Instead we got a email from the owner of Sam's, Keith Howerton, who was not interested at all in resolving the situation in a tactful or cordial manner. He simply replied that they don't want our business anymore. His claim was we were abusive to his staff. We were assertive with his staff for sure, but we never berated, insulted or tried to intimidate anyone. But Howerton ins't interested in any of that. His solution is to brush us off. Sooooooo, Im not saying don't go there. Truth is that Sam's is a fun place with pretty good burgers. Even though the burgers aren't as big as they used to be. But if you do go there, DO NOT PAY FOR BOOTH #7! A picture of our amazing view that we paid over 100$ for is attached.

I had an unpleasant visit. The young cashier long black hair, he overcharged us $47 for two burgers and small fries. Initially, it seemed like a high price, but it was off while waiting for our food. I asked for an itemized receipt, but he claimed it was due to credit card fees. I insisted again, and he admitted his mistake. He overcharged me $10 again, claiming it was due to credit card charges. After reviewing the charge, I realized he had upcharged the food after giving him an extra tip. He finally admitted his mistake. The fries were only $3.99, but he charged us $10. He also overcharged us for Jalapeño peppers, which were $3.98, and we received water. After he was caught, he gave me money out of his own pocket. The cashier seemed dishonest and took his own money out of his pocket instead of refunding my money from the register. I accepted the refund, but I was still bothered by the overpayment and the fact that he touched our burgers with his bare hands while we were waiting for our food. I’m assuming he was upset because I requested my refund. It’s gross that he would touch our food when the cooks are using gloves. I don’t recommend this restaurant due to the scams and dishonesty. Make sure you get an itemized receipt instead of just a sign card receipt.

Went to see Adam Hood live. As a live music venue this place does not disappoint. However, word of warning for those planning on having mixed drinks, this place only serves Pepsi. Pretty much puts a damper on any Coke & liquor combos. No one orders a rum and Pepsi. Except communists. Luckily they have domestic beer because 'Merica! They probably have imports too but if you don't drink 'Merican beer, you might as well go back to where you came from. They have made improvements to the bar area and the stage to extend it. It is a nice room with enough space for GA standing room with tables (available to be reserved) around the back and sides. Outside us a Courtyard and smoking area. Across from the music building is the "Burger Joint." A restaurant that serves burgers which I've never eaten. Not because they aren't good or I've heard bad reviews, just that I always go thee for music and have never been for the restaurant portion. If you're looking for a good place for entertainment, this is the place. Close to the Pearl and ideal for winding down a day/evening of being a hipster.

It took me about 10 years before I tried this place. Because one of the owners wives said the food isn't that good. And she was right. The food is not good. I would have rather have had a Jumbo Jack from Jack In The Box. It would have had better flavor and juicier. The burgers are dry and no flavor. I tasted cheese that's it just cheese. And for the price you pay the size is small. I ordered tater tots as a side. Way overcooked. And it's like they just threw him in the little container they served right out of the fryer because there was a pool of grease under my tater tots. And also my order was incorrect when I received it. Simple problems I understand can be corrected. But for the price you pay I expect quality. And for the price you pay you don't get it here. At least that was my experience. And since the pipes were frozen you couldn't get any soft drinks. But I sat there for 40 minutes waiting for sweet tea and they never filled it back up and they knew it was empty because I tilt it over and left it that way to show them that it was empty. Anyways don't take my word for it. Like I said 10 years ago I was told by one of the owner's wives that it was not good. Would have loved to have said at least it was decent but it really wasn't you're better off going to McDonald's or Jack in the Box or Burger boy and getting a Better Burger and side order and drink for the same price or cheaper. Sorry guys I wanted to...
