UPDATE: Nov. 6, 2024- NO ONE ever contacted me. Says a lot about how they view their customers. Unbelievable! UPDATE: Aug 20, 2024, no one has contacted me after I filled out the contact form that mgt asked me to fill out. I guess I’ll never hear back from them and my complaint doesn’t really matter to anyone but me! UPDATE: Aug. 12, 2024, still no contact from Shipley’s Mgt. UPDATE: Aug 6, 2024. I filled out the contact info as asked, still have NOT heard back from Shipley’s Mgt. —————————————————————-
I debated contacting you, but decided to go ahead and do it. I had a couple of not so great experiences at your shop recently. First, I was visiting family in San Antonio and decided to get donuts for them. I had never been to this Shipley’s before, as I live out of state. I used the app Too Good To Go and was scheduled to pick up between 1pm-2pm on 06/29/24. I arrived to the shop at 1:53pm. The doors were locked. I looked inside and there was a guy standing in the middle of the floor mopping, he looked up & yelled out “We’re closed!” then looked back down and continued mopping the floor. I was so upset! How was the store closed at 1:53 when I had until 2pm to pick up my order?! I got right in my car and contacted Too Good To Go, and they refunded me.
The next day I tried again. I once again used the Too Good To Go app, and had the same pick up time between 1pm-2pm. I got there earlier this time. I arrived at 1:20pm, and wouldn’t you know the same guy was there and he was mopping the floor! There was no “Wet Floor” sign out, but he did tell me to be careful because the floor was wet. He stopped mopping and went behind the counter and asked what I wanted. I told him I had the app and was there to pick up my order. Then he started getting donuts and putting them into a bag WITHOUT even washing his hands! He had just been mopping the floor and he didn’t wash his hands or put on any gloves before getting my donuts. So gross! Just then, a male customer walked in - the employee didn’t tell him to be careful on the wet floor and the guy could’ve very easily have slipped and fallen down.
Why was the floor being mopped so early? I understand it’s summer and the young man probably wants to get out of there quickly, but he needs to wait until 2pm or at least put out a “wet floor” sign.
Why didn’t the employee wash his hands before getting the donuts?
I just thought you needed to know about these events. It didn’t leave me with a very good impression of your shop...
Read moreTheir donuts are good but their attitude sucks. The two people who are the rudest are this young strawberry blonde almost light brown haired girl with glasses and an older lady. Anytime I see them in the drive-through I dread the whole transaction. They could at least smile but instead I get the look like, "why are you here?". Early in the morning idk about some of you; but I'm use to smile's or at least some sort of greeting. Not the "what the hell are you doing here" look. At first I thought it was just the first three times I went that it was just the young girls attitude. Sometimes young adults can be quite moody realizing how life is and such. But then it kept happening, and then I get the older lady and she's rude too! I've been here 10 times+ at least because their donuts are good; I mean they're a Shipley's. All Shipley's are delicious; and since it's my local neighborhood Shipley's, and I'm new to town -I have no other option. There is an Asian man and a young dark haired girl who work there who are very pleasant they smile and are polite; they know how to communicate with customers, and they seem to generally like to serve their community. I wish I could just deal with them instead. The rude young lady in the older lady seemed extremely miserable with their current career. Sighs * The way things go I'm sure the rude ones are probably the owners who are mad they have to work because they probably don't want to hire anybody. you might just want to drive by and only buy donuts when they're not there. Otherwise they'll just make you feel bad for wanting to buy donuts and supporting the business. Sorry I have a lengthy review I've just had it. They really screwed up my mood...
Read moreWe ordered a dozen doughnuts, two kolaches, and four bags of doughnuts holes. The young man gave us the dozen doughnuts, and four bags. We looked in the bags and noticed we only got two bags of doughnut holes. I told the young man and he looked at me like I was insane. He then said no I gave you everything. The bags were still in the front seat and he accused of trying to hide the two extra bags of doughnut holes. My two boys and I looked at each other said he thinks we are trying to scam him. All he had to do was ask to see the bags, but instead he wanted to keep saying he gave us everything. I handed the bags to him and said you can look he took the bags and went to the back and came back with an extra bag of doughnut holes and was still adamant he gave us everything. We still didn’t get our fourth bag. At the end of the day, I’m sure he gets some people who would do anything to get something for free, but don’t immediately accuse a customer sitting at the drive thru window right after you handed us the incomplete order. What’s even worse I order there two to three times a week at the drive thru and have never...
