āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø A Hidden Gem at the Zoo!
As one of the top reviewers in the nation, Iāve visited Starbucks locations from coast to coastāand I have to say, the Starbucks tucked inside the San Antonio Zoo surprised me in the best way possible.
Before stopping by, I noticed the location carried a 3.4-star rating. Iāll be honestāI almost let that sway me. But Iām glad I didnāt. My daughter and I were feeling a bit parched from walking the zoo grounds, and their Summer Refreshers saved the day. I enjoyed my go-to favorite, the Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher with Lemonade, while my daughter couldnāt stop smiling with her Strawberry Matcha Fusion. Both drinks were perfectly chilled, balanced in flavor, and crafted with care.
The staff was upbeat, kind, and fastāeven with a line of guests behind us. The baristas were engaging, and despite the hustle of the zoo, they created a calm, friendly vibe.
Donāt let the rating fool you. This location is a cool oasis in the middle of your zoo adventure. 5 stars from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBe aware, the drinks here cost between $1.00 and $1.50 more than normal Starbucks locations. Not too happy considering Starbucks is already normally quite expensive.
Updated to 1 star. Carefully watching sugar levels and asked for half the pumps (2) of syrup. (The person at the register seemed befuddled as she attempted to do that.) Drank several gulps and immediately realized the drink was far too sweet. I asked the barista if it was half the pumps. She said she added extra pumps. Oh boy. So drink had triple the pumps of syrup than we wanted. The other drink we got was a simple flat white. It came out extremely watery. One has to wonder if, instead of ristretto (a short shot) they instead did a lungo (long shot). Regardless, 2 drinks made completely incorrectly and completely missed the mark.
The person running the register seemed untrained, and the baristas probably get away with making drinks incorrectly all the time as most of the drinks are just masked behind gobs of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWould not recommend this location to anyone, and I won't ever return to it either. The staff are either rude or completely indifferent to customers. I brought in a clean, personal cup to get my drink made in, and the employee at the Register looked at it with disgust and went to get a ceramic mug that she asked me to place my cup into because she wouldn't touch it. The mug she asked me to put mine into was dirty with some pink liquid inside, so I told her it was dirty and she just walked away with it. She then came back to the Register with no mug, and I again tried to set my cup down, to which she said, "Oh, they're cleaning it." When they brought back their ceramic mug for me to place mine into, it was very wet inside, so now I had to put my mug into a wet mug. All in all, terrible service. And to make it worse, the prices here are higher, and they dont give the personal cup discount like...
