Velvet Taco is the best taco place I’ve ever been to. The diversity in flavors are to die for! Ratings of tacos I’ve tried so far below.. Velvet Taco Ratings #7 Buffalo Chicken -not enough fresh ingredients. You can’t taste the carrots as they are overpowered by the Buffalo sauce. -needed something creamy to balance the spice .. probably the blue cheese for other people but I hate blue cheese so I asked for none. #6 Queso Birria Duo -ordered uber eats and by the time it got to me the cheese was all hardened and not gooey -not enough dipping sauce for the two tacos -not as flavorful -Birria is my favorite kind of taco so I’m a hard critic on these #5 Chimichurri Steak -this was so fresh! -steak was a little chewy.. not a fan of steak tacos usually because of this BUT the chimichurri, avocado and just the overall taco was so tasty! #4 Mexi Cali Shrimp -again SO fresh and tasty -I would have preferred the shrimp be cut up not full pieces of shrimp just to have an easier bite. #3 Grilled Salmon -this was one of the best seafood tacos I’ve ever had.. and living in Florida I’ve had a a lot. -the slaw and crema were *chefs kiss* delish! #2 Korean Fried Rice -this one was unexpectedly good but will go down in history on my pallet as an absolute star. 9/10. 4 stars. Could kiss the chef who came up with these flavors on the cheek! #1 Cuban Pig -best taco ever. 10/10. 5 stars. Hit my taste pallet so freaking good. I’ll be dreaming about this taco until the next time I’m near a velvet taco. The saltiness from the pickles, the sauce the crispy bit from the toasted ham… UGH so good!

Crispy tots and sunny egg: Very crunchy and tastes great with the sauces and egg. Red curry coconut queso: mild curry flavor in decent queso dip. Chips are crispy. Slow roasted Angus brisket: great combo, the queso and meat make this properly tender and not dry, pico is a good compliment to it, and the tortilla is better than the other dry ones because of the crispy cheese giving it more flavor and the insides not being dry. Finished and enjoyed this one. Korean fried rice: a bulgogi like sauce would improve this a lot, or kimchee instead of picked red onion. One of the pieces of pork had a small amount of browning and that was good. Not tasting the smoke or maillard reaction otherwise. Cuban pig: too dry, pickles help but those are the best part unfortunately. Didn't care to finish. Quesabirria: ordered this last after the other two misses. The pork lacks any browning and the only flavor is from the consumé. Frying it to a carnitas like consistency would help this a ton, as would dipping the tortilla in the broth before cooking, and then frying cheese on the outside. Two bites in and it wasn't worth getting. Red velvet cake: moist and good. Surprised that the dessert was the highlight of the meal along with the appetizers. The texture is great, mildly sweet and mild cocoa taste like red velvet is supposed to be, with sweetened condesed milk it was great!

Food is always amazing here. We work in the area and frequently visit for lunch and went again on 9/11 at 12pm. The one star can be blamed on the horrible woman taking orders and serving the food behind the counter. Very unapproachable, not customer service oriented at all to each guest she served in front of us. She took our orders as if she wanted us to hurry and move on. She called out my name for my taco to which I walked up and grabbed. I then asked her if one of the multiple orders on the counter were for my coworker (order contained three bowls. Yes, order ticket was present under one of the bowls but I prefer not to start grabbing random bowls). She chose to reply yelling "Yes, those orders are for Adrian and Racheal". Mind you, I did not place the other order so was not aware of what items were involved. I replied "Yes, but there are multiple orders here and not sure which are Racheal's". She once again replied with "Yes, for Adrian and Racheal" but this time followed it up with "You were standing right next to her when she placed the order". I was simply trying to be courteous to my coworker and grab her order since I was already there. There was absolutely no reason for this woman to be as rude as she was. We have never seen her there before but do hope a manager was present and was able to have a discussion to prevent this from happening to...
