I recently had lunch with a friend at P.F. Chang's, and I must say that overall, it was a delightful experience. The food was excellent, and the ambiance of the restaurant was simply beautiful. However, it was a service mishap towards the end that prevents me from giving this establishment the 5-star rating it truly deserves.
Let's start with the positives. The egg drop soup and lettuce wraps I ordered were absolutely wonderful. The flavors were delicious, and the presentation was top-notch. The attention to detail in the food preparation was evident, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The restaurant's ambiance added to the overall experience, creating a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy our lunch.
Unfortunately, an incident occurred during the payment process left a sour taste in my mouth. As I handed the waitress my credit card to settle the bill, she returned with the wrong check, charging me for someone else's meal. I politely brought the mistake to her attention, and she assured me that she would rectify it. However, when she returned for the second time, she had brought the wrong check once again, this time charging me for my friend's meal instead. It was at this point that the waitress raised her voice, seemingly blaming me for the errors she had made.
Maintaining my composure, I requested to speak with the manager. I explained the situation to the manager, who promptly took charge and corrected the mistake. I appreciate the manager's swift action and understanding of the issue, as it salvaged the overall experience.
While the food and ambiance were truly exceptional, the service mishap and the server's temper affected the overall impression of the restaurant. It's unfortunate that a single incident like this can impact an otherwise perfect experience. I believe that the quality of service is an integral part of the dining experience, and the server's behavior after making the mistakes was disappointing.
In conclusion, I must give P.F. Chang's a rating of four stars. The food was excellent, the ambiance was beautiful, and the manager resolved the issue promptly. However, the service mishap and the server's response prevented me from awarding the restaurant the full five stars it deserves. I hope that the management takes this feedback constructively and ensures that such incidents do not occur...
Read morePut our name on the 35 min wait list and skipped over to the bar for a cocktail. Noticed the 5 empty seats at the bar had not been cleared or cleaned, nor had 4 of the empty small bar tables been cleared. We sat at a dirty table for 20 mins without service. Decided to get up and just wait in the foyer area. Hostess asked if we were on the list, and I said yes, but asked her (under my breath) are you guys slammed right now? She looks confused. I asked again, are you guys maybe having an off night? Still confusion. So I explain what she should see that the rest of us are seeing: The restrooms were filthy. The floors everywhere but dining room were sticky, the bar is unattended to in terms of bussing, and pre-bussing. I'm only asking because if you're having an off-night I get it. But I don't want to drop $150 on an off-night, that's all. So finally she responds, "We have nothing to do with the bar area, the restaurant side is fine." So we stay on the list. 35 mins later we're seated. No one saw us for 10 mins. Once greeted a drink order was taken, and an appetizer order. 17 mins passes and no drinks, no app, no visit, nothing. During that time my wife notices several other tables with food, but no water or drinks. She also see tables were people have also been sitting and sitting without service, water, or anything. So, for us that was it. We decided to leave. I wanted to let the hostess staff know that we were leaving so they could tell the missing server but they too were missing from the station. Gave the food 3 stars because it looked good on other people's plates - again over an hour of being at the bar and the restaurant we were served no water, no drinks nor appetizers. P.F. Chang's used to be a fun and special place. It's now a classy looking spot in which to collect...
Read moreAngelo the manger saved me from having to leave a worse review. What started out as early dinner plans turned out to be and hour wait that should have only been 20 min as we were told by an apparent "tired" (lazy) hostess.
She clearly stated we would receive a text when our table was ready. Naturally we took a walk and came back and sat outside. I waited 40 min before I started getting frustrated when I saw a party of 3 who arrived after us be seated.
The hostess told me she gave our table away that she sat someone down with my name. No text that our table was ever received, so our table was given away.
We continued to proceed with dinner where we had let Angelo know exactly why we were frustrated. He did his best to comp an app or our dessert that was forgotten by the time we walked out the door.
To my very surprise Angelo called me, on the same number I should have received our initial text for our table on. To again apologize that we did not receive the best welcome or the promised compensation. Then continued to tell us our next meal is on them or him and to just make sure he's working and to mention this situation.
This bad situation turned good gets a review because of the efforts of Angelo to go above and beyond to make things right although it was more about the fact we didn't get a confirmation text like we were told not did anyone come outside to ask.
Our waitress was there for the same amount of the day working as the hostess was yet she did her job to perfection without even knowing of our situation. I believe her name was Emily.
Don't use a text confirmation system if your not going to abide by it, is the moral of...
