No Delivery, No Contact, No Accountability

I’m really disappointed with this coffee shop. I placed an order for delivery, was charged for it, and never received anything. They didn’t call, text, or follow up — just took the payment and disappeared.

There’s no landline or phone number to reach them, and when I tried contacting customer service, it only redirected me to an email inbox with no real response.

It’s unacceptable for a business to ignore customers and fail to deliver paid orders. If you want reliability or even basic communication, go somewhere else. This place clearly doesn’t care once they’ve charged your card.

When we called the number for this location it forwarded us to the Bird Rock location. There was no manager available. They said they had no way to call the La Jolla store to check on our order. No help what so ever. Unacceptable.

We eventually drove to the La Jolla to see about our order. The girl behind the counter said she threw all 8 drinks away because we didn’t pick them up. We told her they were supposed to deliver them. She told us that location didn’t deliver. We showed her the receipt from their app that stated it would be delivered. We also ordered from there yesterday and it was delivered...

This is an exclusive, pizza-only review to celebrate the outstanding job that Joe and the team are doing. Yes, we know the coffee is outstanding (it's Bird Rock) but the pizza oven had me excited from the minute I saw it placed onto the patio and the results are incredible.

I almost didn't want to write this review to make sure pizza doesn't sell out before I can get there each week :) but it's the best-kept Neapolitan pizza secret in the area - no contest.

If you swear by Buona Forchetta (like I do), then the pizza here is on par. High praise, I know...but it's true. Nothing beats a slow-ferment, 100% Caputo 00 dough expertly prepared and leoparded to perfection.

Huge kudos to Joe and the team for continuously experimenting with the dough and menu to ensure the highest quality available in the area. If you love Neapolitan pizza, then do yourself a favor...deal with the construction, deal with the parking and get in line before they sell out for the day.

I tried Bird Rock Coffee for the first time today and really enjoyed my “Left Coast Latte”, which is a delicious salted caramel flavor. I ordered online and it gave me so many options to customize my drink exactly how I wanted it. It asked everything from hot or iced, amount of caffeine, milk choice, whether I wanted foam or whipped cream, the sweetness level to the amount of ice. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying other menu items.

The cafe itself is also super cute, clean and had plenty of room to sit and chill or work. I didn’t have any personal interactions with the staff, as I ordered online and it was ready when I arrived, but they all seemed very welcoming...
