My family has been going here for about 15 years. The service has always been great and the family who runs the business have been kind. My favorites are in this order, 1. House Kabob, 2. Filet Kabob, 3. Fish Kabob, 4. Chicken Kabob. I always get extra yogurt because I use a lot when dipping my meat into it because it is delicious. On each plate, aside from the protein, the rice is rich with that red stuff on top and the grilled tomato is a great touch. I love the salad it comes with as it compliments the entire dish and I always take some of my mom's off her plate because it is so good. The plates range from $7-10, and it is worth it and filling. After eating a plate there, I usually also order one to go for later because I love it!

I also buy some of the seasonings there to make chicken kabobs at home. You can also do party trays as I've done so 3x already.

After you have visited a couple of times, maybe order ahead so it is ready for you when you arrive since it takes them 15-30 minutes to make a plate depending on how busy they are. That's what my family does now..order...

Namino Persian Restaurant is an absolute treasure, and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and the unmistakable aroma of authentic Persian cuisine. Owner Ali Zabdi has done a phenomenal job bringing the flavors of Iran to life — every dish reflects care, tradition, and culinary mastery.

The kabob koobideh is incredibly juicy and seasoned to perfection. The barg melts in your mouth with every bite, and the lobia polo is the perfect balance of savory and aromatic. But the real standout for me was the tahchin — golden, crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. It’s a masterpiece!

Ali truly knows how to make very, very good food — food that not only fills you up, but makes you feel at home. You can tell everything is made with love and high standards. This is more than a meal — it’s an experience.

Highly recommend Namino to anyone craving delicious, authentic Persian dishes. I’ll definitely be coming back —...

I came here yesterday with seven of my friends, and we all had an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious — I ordered the daily special, and it was outstanding. The flavors were so authentic and fresh, and everything we tried was cooked to perfection.

The highlight for me was the Tahchin, which was full of flavor and had the perfect texture. My friends also raved about the kebabs and combo plates — tender, juicy, and packed with taste. You can really tell that everything is made with care and high-quality ingredients.

On top of the food, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The owner, Ali, was so friendly and made us feel right at home. It’s not just a meal here, it’s an experience that feels like a taste of Persian hospitality.

If you’re in La Jolla and want incredible Persian food, this is the spot. I can’t wait...

This is the worst Persian food I have ever had and I know what Persian food is. Don’t go here to eat if you want the real thing! My grandmother was born in Iran, she spoke some Farsi, and made authentic Persian food. I came with a Persian friend of mine and we both agreed: This was the blandest, most inauthentic version of what can be called “Persian food”. The rice was dry and unflavorful. Nowhere near “saffron rice” more like turmeric rice, a cheap colored version. Also what Persian restaurant puts thousand island on their salad? If I wanted American food I would’ve went to McDonald’s. Only the beef kabobs itself contained any real flavor, but paying $20 for one kabob with terrible rice and thousand island lettuce is absurd. One positive, the food presentation was nice lol. Will definitely not be back. Y’all have been warned.
