So, I had no idea this place even existed, but I came to this area to charge my car, and I spotted this burger joint, and, well, I haven't had a real, gourmet style burger in about a year. I'm very picky about my food. I'll do cheap and fast unless I want quality, and then I don't hold back. I've been all over the world, and as far as burgers go, I've had 1 lbs burgers in places like Fudruckers in a number of states, 1 lbs burgers at the Four Seasons Restaurant in Columbus Georgia near Ft Benning, like the Ranger Burger and the Sniper Burger, the 1 and 1/3 lbs burger at Frisco Burgers in El Paso Texas, and even the 1 lbs burger at The Local Bigger Burger in Seattle in Capitol Hill. I had the Double Mushroom Swiss Burger with the Sweet Potato Fries here today, and I was more than a little impressed by the speed, the quality, and the flavor. OMG the FLAVOR!!!!!!!! This place is no joke. If you want a good, big, very high quality, perfectly cooked burger in San Diego, The Melt is the place to be baby!!!!!!

Underwhelming. Taste does not match the hype of pictures on their beautiful menu. Main melts that we had were fairy tasty and probably a good value however the sides were overpriced and full of sadness. Fries were well seasoned but soggy and poor. Shake was tasty-ish but watery and messy. Mac and cheese was an offense to Mac and Cheese. Honestly below stovetop make at home level. Kraft would be an improvement. We got the steak and cheese melt which had undercooked jalapeños and peppers which degraded the experience (roasted would have been way better) but the meat solid, and a patty melt which was pretty tasty with slightly strong mustard which may or may not be your thing. Would recommend skipping this unless you stick to the core melt and burger menu in which case we reach an “acceptable” rating.

I really enjoyed the steak and cheese sandwich and would come back here again in a heartbeat to it, have it again. My wife ordered the queso de mayo and wasn't quite as impressed with that one. It was basically the same price as mine, but half of the fillings and Just didn't hit the spot for her. The fries were good and I like the seasoning that was on them Update: The next night we were out looking for some good mexican, and ended up at a place with good reviews, but ended up getting served chicken that had gone bad. Such a turn off! So, we went back to The Melt and at there again, knowing we were going to get good food! We were not disappointed, and my wife ordered the The Patty Melt this time and was happy with the sandwich.

GREAT MOVIE DINNER ! On Tuesday afternoon we watched a movie at the AMC La Jolla 12 theatre complex nearby and straight after our first choice for dinner was right here. My wife and I had been here once before soon after they first opened a few years ago....another movie night. We thought our food was pretty decent back then so another visit was always on the cards. We rocked inside about 6.40pm and stood around for a minute or so studying the menu board up high. It was a bit on the quiet side so we didn't feel hurried. Eventually we stood at the cashier counter to place our order. My wife wanted the SICILIAN CHICKEN Sandwich ( Grilled, chopped chicken breast, provolone, fontina, grilled mushrooms on spicy garlic bread ) while I amazingly chose exactly the same burger as I did last time...the SPICY MISSION MELTBURGER ( More than 1/3 pound of our signature Angus & Wagyu beef, chopped, grilled and filled with loads of melted pepper jack, sliced jalapeños, fresh avocado, lettuce, spicy ketchup ( cooked medium, pink & juicy ). Now when I checked in on YELP before we entered I received an offer for a FREE SIDE OR SHAKE with a meal order. And you know I wanted a milkshake so I took the deal and ordered a SNICKERDOODLE MILKSHAKE. A nice friendly male cashier behind the counter took care of everything and gave us a ready buzzer. Things started to get a tad busier which made sense as the food here is pretty good value. Before we knew it our buzzer went berserk and my wife went to the counter to fetch our dinner order. I haven't had a shake in a quite a long time and just had to taste my Snickerdoodle Milkshake first up.....DARN GOOD ! In fact so good that I forgot to take a pic...trust me it was YUMMIFYING ! My wife totally enjoyed her Sicilian Chicken Sandwich...tender chicken, lots of melted cheese, yummy mushrooms on grilled garlic bread. WHAT A GREAT COMBO ! My Spicy Mission MeltBurger was definitely FULLY LOADED with a huge luscious beef patty hanging out with lots of other dreamy ingredients. A little on the sloppy side to eat but it tasted MOUTHSATIONAL ! Hard to complain when our very delicious dinner cost barely more than $20 with a tip. A...

PRETTY GOOD ! My wife and I decided to give this very new burger joint a try last Saturday evening before heading to the AMC La Jolla 12 to see Blade Runner 2049. I checked this place out before it opened a couple of weeks ago and it looked as though they were intending to take burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches into the fast food stratosphere. We walked in around 5.30pm and stood there for a few minutes analyzing the menu board. My wife ordered the Italian Job while I liked the sound of the Spicy Mission Melt Burger + a serve of Sweet Potato fries. A guy named Ryan was looking after us and he doing a good job at that. They give you a buzzer to take to your table….similar set up to another well known burger chain. The decor is bright and cheery, a big screen TV up on the wall, 2 gender neutral bathrooms, plenty of tables inside and outside on the patio. What more could you ask for ? Our dinner order only took a few minutes and we were buzzed. My burger looked astounding, bigger and more luscious than I expected. My wife's grilled cheese sandwich looked kinda tiny compared to my huge burger with the extra fries. Who said size doesn't matter ? My huge burger tasted very good...the large bun was very fresh and the grass fed beef patty tasted outstanding + the tomato sauce added a flavorsome zest. My wife loved her Italian Job grilled sandwich and noted that there was a garlic flavor which made the cheese / mushroom filling even more tasty. While I was busy chomping away at my burger & yummy fries a friendly guy wearing a The Melt embossed jacket walked by us and said hello. Next minute we are having a friendly chat with this guy named Herb who happens to be a big shot with The Melt...something like in charge of all the stores in California. He was a real nice guy and very switched on in this type of business of course. We were very impressed with the fast efficient service, meal quality and serve size, store cleanliness and the overall upbeat vibe of the place. We don't usually frequent fast food joints but this one is definitely a cut above the rest. We'll be back to try some of the other interesting choices...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the melt, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Firstly, let's talk about the burgers. Oh, my taste buds were in burger heaven! The patties were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked to my liking. The menu boasted a wide array of creative options, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. Whether you're a fan of classic cheeseburgers or looking for something more adventurous like their signature specialty burgers, you won't be disappointed. The attention to detail in crafting each burger is evident, with fresh ingredients and an expert blend of flavors. It was a true delight sinking my teeth into every bite!

Beyond the outstanding burgers, the ambiance of the place was cozy and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every guest felt welcomed and comfortable. The service was prompt, and my order arrived quickly, prepared with care. The restaurant's cleanliness and adherence to hygiene standards were commendable, ensuring a pleasant dining environment.

What impressed me the most about the melt was their commitment to quality. It was evident that they prioritize using top-notch ingredients, which elevated the taste and overall experience. They also offer a variety of sides and beverages to complement your meal, and I highly recommend trying their crispy fries and refreshing homemade lemonade.

As a burger enthusiast, I've visited countless burger joints, but the melt has undeniably earned a spot at the top of my list. I left the place with a satisfied appetite and a smile on my face, eagerly looking forward to my next visit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to pay the melt a visit and indulge in their burger creations. You won't be disappointed!

In conclusion, The Melt exceeded all my expectations with their mouthwatering burgers, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service. It's a haven for burger lovers and a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a culinary experience that...
