Denny's is a true "classic" diner ; it's design is based on some of our 50's style restaurants, with very comfortable booths and "single counter style seating." I was invited to Denny's by my youngest sister and found the atmosphere there to be quite relaxing ; it's a good place for small groups of people, a business meeting or a family - they have a special menu "just for kids" and inexpensive to free items for very young children. The "booth style seating" is reminiscent of the old "truck stop diners" that I oft frequented when travelling from city to city,or state to state, during my younger days. In fact, Denny's is known worldwide as they were one of the first American style restaurants to expand to Europe and the Orient : When I was in Tokyo - on a business trip - my associate took me to Denny's in Kawsaki ( The prices of beef in Japan are astronomical, as the South Korean minority controls the beef industry ; Japan is 96% ethnic Japanese. In fact, when I was there, I felt like "The Jolly Green Giant," because I was so tall that I towered over everyone, as I travelled about their country.). I think that the food at the Denny's was really good as they specialize in a number of "custom-made" plates ; I had a "breakfast style dinner" and I thought that it was really good, as well as a cup of coffee that was a mild sweet blend that wasn't too strong ; my sister and I both complemented our dinner with a piece of pecan pie. Denny's also features a number of award-winning milk shakes and I like their banana splits. They are truly a step back into the past and their prices are very reasonable, no matter what you decide to order ; most are less than $10 per person, which is relatively inexpensive when compared to other places. The waiter that we had was very courteous and he was there, even to give us refills on our coffee ; certainly "service with a smile!" I'd certainly recommend this location to anyone who would like a pleasant and relaxing dining experience. There was ample parking and the restroom was spotless and there was a service station "next door," which is a classic Denny's trademark, just as the "adjacent freeway location." "Ya' all come on down and I'll be waitin' to see...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Experience Thanks to Chris!
My recent visit to Denny’s was nothing short of exceptional, and it’s all thanks to our amazing server, Chris. From the moment we walked in, Chris made us feel genuinely welcome and valued. It’s rare to come across someone so attentive, professional, and truly passionate about providing great service.
Chris didn’t just meet our expectations—he went far beyond them. Every detail of our meal was handled with care, from customizing orders flawlessly to checking in at the perfect moments without being overbearing. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, and his warm, positive energy elevated the entire dining experience.
What stood out most was how Chris made everything feel possible. Special requests? No problem. Dietary questions? Answered with ease and accuracy. It honestly felt like dining with a friend who just happened to be a hospitality expert.
If every restaurant had a Chris, the world would be a much better (and tastier) place. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for him by name!
**The single complaint I do have about Denny's on friars road is the size of their shakes. For some reason recently they downside their shakes dramatically to a noticeably smaller cup. Couple more days past and then they also reduced it again without having the dome top to allow whipped cream to be added to it to go order. I find this absolutely insulting for a shake that costs over 7.50 it is almost a slap in the face to a customer and all I can see is it was an employee in the attempts to show cost savings to a higher position. I feel this is a extreme failure and lack of listening to your customers because many many have complained about the size change especially with it being a $7.50 shake. We all hope this reverts back to the original size in a timely fashion. Managers don't sacrifice quality and quality over customer satisfaction its a terrible reflection of yourself trying to make yourself look good at the...
Read moreThis particular location consistently sucks for dinner. I only came back because we wound up here one date night a couple months ago, which made the place special. Not anymore.
Burger was extremely dry, bun was burnt, fries were way over done and I had to take it home to add more cheese to try and make it tolerable.
Our pale blue lipsticked waitress never came back to see how things were and left her co worker alone to manage the guests by herself, she was really nice and doing a good job being stretched so thin. I even watched her try to get our waitress to come help her twice and leave the cooks to do the stuff she needed done, nope too busy flirting.
So I had to flag the nice waitress down for the check, complain that no one came back to check on us and my food sucked and get a box since our blue lipsticked waitress was in the kitchen too busy distracting the cooks who some how manage to cook a steak properly but burn my burger. All I was offered was a slice of cheesecake for the food sucking. I'm hungry, I came for food not dessert. For a $20 burger & fries I expected it to be served edible when brought to the table not have to take it home and try to salvage over cooked everything. How about my time and money back instead?
Oh and I should add it's not until I'm trying to pay the check that blue lipstick was suddenly free to collect her tip.
We had better service & food after hours 2 months...
