El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in San Diego

I have been having trouble with their drive thru. Last time I went, I asked for 3 drinks, 1 being a lemonade. I had to tell the person 3 times I wanted a lemonade. They claimed there was a problem with the speaker. The person seemed to understand me fine UNTIL I got to the part I wanted a lemonade, then they were conveniently having "problems" with their speaker (tell me, how does "lemonade" sound like "iced tea"?) Yet when I got to the window, they handed me the food I ordered (which was correct), but I only got 2 drinks. I had to tell the person 3 TIMES also was owed a lemonade. They finally gave it to me. The manager came by and claimed again that the speaker wasn't working. I told him that I was talking to the worker at the WINDOW, and the worker couldn't seem to comprehend I was missing a drink. Unless the "speaker" is also a translator since I was talking to the person DIRECTLY, the worker apparently couldn't understand me. The manager didn't even offer a discount for my next visit, an extra food item, or a part refund. This isn't the first time I have been having problems since they often give me flour tortillas instead of CORN. I probably won't be back to this location for awhile until they can get people who can understand...

**SIX STAR REVIEW!!!!!! Caden, Brian, Axel, Azhuna, Kattya and Mel are Superstars!!!!!! My car group and I eat here regularly. Caden got everything right and processed the transactions at the speed of light. Bravo Caden for your enthusiasm and professionalism. Brian and the whole crew worked behind the scenes, keeping everything flowing in a highly ordered manner. Brian is leader that is quick on the uptake, very keen and a total pro. The whole operation was fast, friendly and exceeding efficient. The food was fantastically delicioso and super fresh. I should mention that my wife and I use the drive through once a week and amazingly, after we place our order, we then drive around to the other side of the building to pick it up and presto: the order is ready when we arrive. WOW. Everyone here exceeds our high expectations every time. All are apex pinnacle top representatives of El Pollo...

Not exact gourmet eats, but very consistent and reasonably healthy fast food. The staff here have always been friendly and the chicken has become one of my family's favorite comfort foods. We always get the family meal deal with legs and thighs. For sides, I recommend the beans (brown and black are both good), the coleslaw, and the Loco Side salad. My kids like the rice but I skip that. House and guacamole salsa are awesome. Lastly, don't forget to get a couple of churros for dessert. Some of the best churros I've had. All of that for about 60~75% of eating...
