Elsa's Kitchen — Restaurant in San Diego

Elsas kitchen, As a first responder to the world trade center attacks bacj on 911/2001, being from new york and raised with italians for a portion of my up bringing, ive had the luxury of eating at some of the really good restuarants in my time, ive discovered Elsas kitchen some time ago about 7 to 10 years ago martine and his lovely daughter gabby have been very good to over the years, so going to eat there is as close as someone can get with fast and friendly service, the food is always great . You never have to worry about wrong orders or the food is not what it was since the last time you visted, its always consistantly what you expect hot tasty. My favorite is the half chicken dinner, its lemon chicken with rice pillaff with pita bread and a bomb greek salad. Everything fresh, the place is kept very clean, its not some fancy place where its $17.00 or so a meal. For what they are offering for i think its like $11.00 for the half chicken meal not including a drink.. for the quality of food they serve? I think everybody will agree that $11.00 is cheap. To me every meal from.them is like unwrapping a christmas present. Check it out for yourself be sure and tell the johnny mustang sent you, and you will agree the martine and gabby are very hard workers,and always fast friendly service with a smile. I feel like im giving away some privelidge information here. Food still great! Bunch of specials. Food is like home made! Restroom has been out of service for years , just a heads up!

Update: 6/8/22 Still amazing food. My favorite is just the traditional cheeseburger meal! Anything you get from this place is a new unfamiliar taste in your watery mouth. I love this place. I moved to north county. When I'm down in San Diego La Mesa. I have to stop by and support the little family kitchen! Thank you Elsa's Kitchen for always making me fresh food! Oh and the chicken sandwhich is a classic!

If you are a la mesa native. This is a must spot. The food is extremely fresh , from scratch. It's not like other food places , that make you feel crazy full or bloated. The price and specials they have make it worth every penny. There main is "greek" but honestly everything on the menu is great! Especially the burgers and crispy chicken sandwich! Nice little hidden spot. Very homey feeling. If you are hungry at got the time definitively a cool...

We have been going to Elsa's for the past 10 years - plus! Exceptional service and delicious food! Highly recommended! Can't pick a favorite on the menu, although - they have been so wonderful to us that we have created our own burger - The Chauncey Burger. Thanks for being there for our lunches and dinners.
