Went here for late lunch recently. It's a great area but I personally found it a bit lacking. When you are charging $13 for avocado toast or $5 for a simple bagel you need to match service and extras. The food was fresh (pasteries) and did taste delicious.
Your water, its tap water. What are you doing? At your price point you need to at least filter your water, even if it's free.
Utensils, they come wrapped in a basic napkin. Youre in La Jolla, the epicenter of wealth, you need to pay for cloth napkins. When you serve food, serve it with said utensils. Nothing more annoying then getting your plate and then having to stand up for your fork because you have no table service.
Your coffee? Perhaps the American coffee is fine but you cannot just fine grind American beans and turn that into espresso. The espresso was just bad. Do your research, purchase good stuff, Lavazza, Illy, etc. Also you have to do better then just putting it in a cup. No side of sugar, no small spoon, it was really just basic, and extremely poor quality.
Atmosphere is fine but you have literal flies (multiple) inside your indoor eating area. In the mid afternoon it was warm and humid inside. Might need to rethink the no AC concept here.
The outdoor area seemed nice, had good shade on a few tables. I left thinking this wasn't really a serious and professionally ran cafe. At the price point I expected much more, even if...
Read moreThe interior of the place is very cute and thatâs the only good thing Iâll say about this place. However, it is very crammed inside. I paid $14, yes $14 for the most pathetic yogurt bowl in my life. The picture doesnât do it justice. But, if you look at how âdeepâ my spoon is in, it shows how little of food I got for a ridiculously expensive amount I paid for. When she handed it to me I just looked at it like wtf is this? But, I had to get to work so, I just bit my tongue and left. BTW I was still starving at eating like 4 bites of this bowl. I would not recommend coming here. The vibe is also very unwelcoming. Tons of signage of only 40 minutes to sit and no outside food or drinks, etc. I really dislike when establishments have strict signs put up for guests. Even one of the older workers kept uncomfortably staring when I walked in. No hello, hi, or welcome. Just a strange blank stare like I did something wrong by walking in. It was pretty uncomfortable not gonna lie. I love supporting small businesses but, If itâs not good Iâm leaving an honest review. Maybe theyâll change the standards by reading all the negative reviews? One may hope though for their...

We had a really unpleasant experience at this cafĂŠ and wonât be coming back. The staff were not accommodating or friendly at all. We specifically ordered a plain waffle for my toddler brother â no toppings, just the waffle. Instead, they brought out a fully loaded one covered in Nutella, sugar, and fruit. When we politely explained that this wasnât what we ordered and asked to have it corrected, they told us weâd have to pay for another if we wanted it plain. They insisted this was what we ordered, even though they had only said âwaffleâ when confirming, with no mention of toppings.
It was shocking how unwilling they were to fix a simple mistake â especially given that a toddler clearly couldnât eat what they brought. The fact that they expected us to just accept a $17 waffle that was completely unusable is unacceptable, especially after we had already ordered nearly $90 worth of food. Their attitude was unprofessional and dismissive, and it completely ruined the experience for us.
Save your time and money â there are plenty of places nearby that actually care about...
