If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. My review is based on my experience as a seller. I called ahead to make sure this store purchases watches since I was looking to sell 2 Rolex watches from my father’s collection. I told the rep on the phone about the types of watches and was honest about not having boxes nor papers. They still said that was fine and they would make an appointment that same day so I can have it viewed by their buyer in store that day.

I kept my appointment and this was the first store I visited for these watches due to the great reviews they had online. Unfortunately it seems those reviews were only for buyers, and not those selling to them.

At first I was met with friendliness. No other customer was at the store so almost all of them came up to greet me and ask what I was there for. I met with the buyer in a few minutes and he checked the watches and asked some questions about the watch.

Everything seemed to go fine until he asked what price I had in mind. Knowing how these transactions go, I did my research ahead of time and also asked my father what his price point was. I did not want to throw out a number first though and instead put the question back on them as to how much they would offer. It started getting tense then because they would just refuse to say something and then instead now critiqued the watches to try to justify why they are not giving a price. After a while, the second buyer came by and inspected it. He then told me point blank that I should not have gone to them first and that they don’t even “need to buy these pieces.” He also tried to point out that I was not educated with these pieces and told me to “do my research.” Lastly ended with “when you get your best offer, then you can come back to us with a number but we are not going to give you a buy price.”

Useless waste of my time and trip to La Jolla for a supposed reputable business. I felt so degraded after that meeting since I just packed up and left and they just ignored me after that point. Gone was the friendliness initially received since they basically embarrassed me while every one of their sales people on the floor saw/heard what happened.

Maybe they are good for when you need to buy pieces (but aren’t all sales people that way?) but steer clear of this place when you want to sell good pieces. They will not be honest with you and just...

It has been an absolutely wonderful experience visiting CJ Charles Jewelers in La Jolla and getting my first Omega. The ambience, customer service and knowledge of the staff was beyond what I expected. I was greeted by Tatiana and from the beginning I could tell that she is very knowledgeable about the brand, the history and amazing craftsmanship. I loved an Omega Seamaster 300 and she did her best to explain everything I needed. We were offered drinks and truly amazing experience. Since I was traveling she gave me a beautiful travel pouch and gifted my 5-year old Paris Olympics Omega pins, which he absolutely adores! I have been wearing my Seamaster on most days and absolutely in love! After the purchase, she stayed in contact with me making sure that I had no other questions/concerns. When I was looking to buy a new watch , a white-dial Speedmaster Professional, I reached out to Tatiana again and even though I was told that it maybe few months to receive this Speedmaster I got the watch delivered to my place in 3-weeks which was truly impressive. She also surprised me with other Omega gifts! I highly recommend working with Tatiana and she has always made the Omega buying experience one of the best! Huge shout out to her for making this experience perfect. If you ever plan to visit La Jolla, I recommend stopping at CJ Charles and ask for Tatiana, you will never be disappointed!
