LIK Fine Art — Attraction in San Diego

Call me arrogant or whatever, but I don’t really think this guy is all that special and his photos are quite cliché if you ask me. They are beautiful photos, don’t get me wrong, but they don’t really tell a story and they are pretty much photos anyone could take with the proper equipment. Lik says that it is all about timing, and in most photographic situations I would agree, but I think he drastically overplays how difficult these things are. Many of the times it is about patience, research, technique, and one’s eye for photography. Many of the times I go out shooting I simply go to a location and just wander around taking photos like most photographers might tend to do. I don’t want to completely diminish his work and clearly he is more accomplished than myself, but he is almost like the Bear Grylls of photography….mostly...

CUSTOMER BEWARE! My wife and I bought 3 pieces of Peter’s work from a salesperson named Kayla Trombino. We liked - not loved - his pieces (although ridiculously overpriced for photo prints… and we are fine art collectors), and they are hanging in our Coronado home. Here’s where it went south: after we purchased them, we were barraged by waves of junk mail from Kayla from the gallery. We politely asked the studio to remove us from her list at least 10 times, but were ignored. To pay thousands of dollars for somewhat kitschy but better than average photos, to then be ignored when asked to be taken off of a useless list is aggravating at best.
