The real problem with this place is that the owners/workers don’t actually know about pizza. To them, this is just a business, a means to and end. A way to earn a living. When you open a place called “New York Pizza”, it is only natural to expect the pizza to be new york style. It isn’t. In fact, it’s one of the most basic and sad excuses for pizza that I have tried in Poway. The dough is floppy and soaked in grease on the undercarriage. You will need two hands to hold the slice, not because it’s a big slice, but because it’s really that floppy. Also, the dough is WAY too thick, spongy, and tasteless. That’s really the word to describe the dough/crust, its SPONGY. The cheese blend is cheap and not great. The sauce, what little i could taste, was not good. It tasted cheap and too sweet. This is not new york style pizza and I struggle to understand why the owner would name the restaurant as such. Anyone who comes in here expecting New York style pizza should turn around and leave. There are much better and cheaper new york style pizzerias in Poway and I highly suggest you try those. If I had to say one nice thing about this place it would be that it was clean and the staff...
Read moreThis is one of our favorite local pizza spots in Rancho Bernardo! We’ve been here several times, and the owner is always so kind and welcoming — the customer service is truly exceptional. There’s something special not only about the atmosphere but also about the pizza itself — it’s delicious, fresh, and made with care.
Just one of their giant pizzas can feed an entire team of cheerleaders, and the second one easily feeds all the parents! After a long day of cheering in the sun, our girls always look forward to coming here for a treat or taking out to eat together.
They also serve other menu items that we’re excited to try next time. This place has definitely become one of our go-to favorites — highly recommend supporting this amazing...
Read moreWhile San Diego corners the market on tacos, it has never really been known as a pizza town. There are a few standouts however that I have enjoyed seeking out over the years. I have always considered pizza one of my culinary loves. I think that bad pizza is better than no pizza at all. The slices here at Giant Pizza NY Style in San Diego's Rancho Bernardo neighborhood are excellent! They offer a variety of specials but one big (giant) slice is a perfect, satisfying lunch for me. The crust has a nice crispness to it with a slight yeasty flavor that I adore. It's foldable without being floppy which is important to me. Very well balanced, including the cheese, zesty sauce and generous toppings. The staff here are all so friendly, helpful...
