New York Bagels & Cafe — Restaurant in San Diego

My name is Dr.Cesar DDS,MS I have a new dental practice in the next door plaza where the First National Bank is. I stopped by for the first time as a new customer and when I walked in the door there was no greeting. There was a male employee that has a shaved head very pushy rude terrible customer service. Treated me like a second class citizen. I wanted to buy half a dozen bagels that were on the counter as I was going to perchase the bagels I asked them kindly to please lightly toast the bagels for me because I wanted them for my staff and we don’t have a toaster at the office yet. He said no that they don’t toast the bagels that are on the counter only the ones behind the counter that are more expensive I was so surprised and upset that they refused to toast my bagels!!!I will never recommend or return to this shop. We went to New York Bagels & Cafe while visiting San Diego. The staff was very friendly (welcomed us immediately when we entered) and welcoming. They have everything you would expect from a bagel shop. They have a wide variety of bagels and by far and away the coolest was the rainbow bagel (you can see a little of it in the dozen bagels picture). This was the favorite bagel of my children. I ordered the jalapeno cheese bagel and it was very good. The jalapenos offered the perfect amount of heat and the cream cheese balanced it. Pricing is average for a bagel place. The service is quick. You can take breakfast with you or dine in. They have a lot of seating and the area is very clean. We would definitely return to this place if we're in...

So disappointed. Drove out of our way to come to this place because it had such high reviews. I have been craving a good bagel for forever. Ordered A jalapeño bagel with salmon cream cheese. The salmon cream cheese spread was 13.95. I opened up my bagel and could count on one hand how many salmon flakes were in the cream cheese. Yes flakes not chunks. Chili peppers were bigger than what was in that cream cheese. NO flavor AT ALL. What a rip off! Pretty much paid $15 for a plain bagel & plain cream cheese.
