I Could tell it was not popular because there were two other people there. I Had a stomach ache after taking three bites. Their online menu still has items that are no longer available.
Their lemonade was watery.
The bar was not well lit and made the rest of the place look dreary. The little light they did have wasn't enough to make the place seem welcoming.
Entrees: tortelli piacentina: presentation unappetizing, not served how authentic italian is. Dry inside. Tasteless. Spinach and ricotta pasty.
Lasagna: pasta on pasta, nothing in between layers, with the meat sauce on top, no ricotta whatsoever.
Swallows nest: eater from my party described it as "bearable". Lunch meat ham. Dry hard noodles.
Garlic bread average.
Plateware outdated scratched and worn
Waitress tried to take water glass from my hand as I was drinking to fill it.
Meals with hot plates on top of plates obviously reheated.
Make shift curtain in back dining room looks trashy.
Music screaming in my ears.
I was dining with an italian so there is no way my accusations of non-italian-ness are not legit.
Bread not complimentary, we basically paid 100.00 for bad meals for 4 people. They need Gordan ramsey!
Went to a different place after to get actual food.
I know some people may say my comments are harsh but when I am dining at a 4 star italian restaraunt and paying 100 dollars I should get nothing but the...
Read moreWe were a group of 16 visiting Sand Diego. Made a reservation at Jack & Guilio's for dinner. We had been there last year, dined outside and had a lovely dinner. Anyway this year we all arrived and were seated, got water, drinks and it was downhill from there. After our orders were taken, we waited 1 1/2 hours and still were not served...we complained and were told it would be ready soon, that there was another large party there also? Whose problem should that be???? One couple had to leave because her husband is handicapped and in a wheelchair and could not stay any longer...when she asked them to call a Taxi to go back to our hotel, they told her to go out on the street and flag one down....how appauling!!!! Finally our food came...the waiter came flying in delivering our meals. Out of 16 people only 4 said that their meal was good......one sent hers back and didn't order anything else...and the rest ate hardly anything of their meals.....When we complained again, they acted like they really didn't care what was happening.....never an apology, no excuse, no "we're sorries." We were all so mad and they couldn't have cared less. We did pay our bill, reluctantly, but NO TIP,,,not even the insulting penny. Don't know what is going on there....perhaps they are going bankrupt or out of business....the attitude was unbelievable. They'll never see...
Read moreIf I was given an option to not select a star I definitely would. By far the worst experience I've had in San Diego as a tourist I look at each restaurants reviews. I wish someone would have warned me of the terrible customer service. Let me start off by it was my 4 year old daughter, my husband, and myself looking forward to having some Italian dinner, so when we walk in the gentlemen looked at us as if we did not belong in his restaurant second he asked us to wait and had a young lady come and seat us. After being seated we Waited 5 min to get a menu mind you we had not been asked if we would like something to drink. So when they finally bring the menu the same man who left us waiting for a table asks if we are ready to order so we did he was walking away when my husband asked if we can have something to drink and his response was "yea what do you want?" After he said that we both decided to walk out of the restaurant with that kind of customer service forget it I would not want them to cook my food. So many other places to choose from. STAY AWAY from this place not...
