James Coffee is the best coffee in town. I am a coffee lover and coffee snob. I wear my Italian coffee drinking days with honor. James is the best. My favorite is the spiced Mexican Mocha, but a classic latte or cappuccino is just as delightful. Their coffee beans are slightly bold in flavor, not too bitter, with a hint of tartness and chocolate.
Their lattes, my favorite drink of choice at James are creamy, perfectly balanced with the taste of coffee, they don’t burn the beans (like some places), nor do they have a watered down taste, or an overly intense taste, but a perfect balance of creamy milk and coffee. If you’re like me and like a good mocha, the flavors of the flavored latte are perfectly mixed throughout every sip.
Their use of quality ingredients (the right oat or almond milk for me), their knowledge of the right measured espresso shot, and how they take their time (without waiting too long) making the coffee is what makes this place so special.
The staff is very good at what they do, and they know it. They don’t rush making your drink to ensure quality, yet they subscribe to the American desire for urgent gratification of reasonably fast service. Coffee takes an average of 5-10 mins to be ready.
But what I love about this place and the people who go there is this understanding that if you come to James, you’re going to get good coffee, and you’re going to enjoy it. It’s one of the few places in town that allows you to slow down a bit, and watch the poodles walk by as you sip on your James...
Read moreI come here almost every day. Today I come in 10m before closing. The girl who was closing, I always have issues with when she working.. IDK here name but she has brown medium hair and pale skin, super upbeat girl.she started in the new year. I love all the staff but her. Every time I see her I just want walk out because she talks to much. There’s times where she be talking to the customer for 10 minutes straight and behind me there’s a whole line started. She didn’t even know what a cold brew was and hot americano was when she first started and constantly got my order on. On top of her lack of urgency and messy ups. Today was my last straw. I walked in 10m before closing. I asked if they were close and she said no and she said do you wanna ice Americano and I said no I actually wanna ice Matcha she rolled her eyes and threw back head down. I am sorry!? What! Horrible experience, I always leave above 20% tip, so not make my drink and get extra tip? Her attitude was uncalled for.. I have her look she quickly said oh it’s fine. Actually I don’t mind making it and I looked at her and I said no it’s OK you’re closing and obviously that’s important. I don’t want make you upset. I left. I love all the james coffee...
Read moreThis review is primarily about the service/attitude of the staff. Was in the area on a Saturday morning and stopped by for a quick coffee to go. Small patio seating outside was full, inside two people (both together) waiting for their order and 3 employees (one white female barista, one Asian female barista with a bunch of tattoos, and a dude at the cash register).
Place order, stand and wait.
First two people waiting receive their order, now it’s our turn. Baristas are chit chatting the entire time which is no problem at all. When our order is up, the Asian barista just places it on the counter, calls the name, and resumes her conversation. The order: two iced lattes with different milk and flavoring, so they look identical. She said “that one’s the one with xyz milk” but didn’t point, didn’t write anything on the cup, just kind of tipped her head in the general direction. I guess the conversation was too good to stop, look at us (the customers), and take the time to clearly explain which drink is which. Extremely off putting attitude.
Overall, staff looked disinterested, coffee is good but not to die for, and even the other customers were so so (walking in this one dude just kept...
