I needed a last minute hair cut for Christmas break and started calling salons at 10am (when they generally open) to check walk-in availability. I got lucky and they had a cancellation only a minute before. Within 20 minutes, I was at the salon.
I forget the name of the gal who cut my hair, but her service was absolutely amazing. I expressed that I was just looking to get a trim; I wanted to keep the style that I was already wearing. I specifically requested face framing and layering. We also ended up toning my hair to freshen up the balayage I had gotten around 5 months prior.
She did an absolutely amazing job with my hair. The face framing came out super cute. I loved that she added some more layers than I already had, giving me some more dimension. I also loved that she explained that she was thinning out my hair a bit (hair dresses had done this to me before, but I didn't know the logic) because I have a ton of hair so it becomes quite heavy. After thinning it out, it became so flowy and light. I already have a thick head of hair so thinning it out is extremely helpful.
Before washing and toning my hair, I expressed that last time I had my hair washed by someone else, that it was painful for my scalp and asked if she could be very careful. She was and it didn't hurt at all. The toner she used was very effective and it took out the orangey/bronze color in my hair, returning my balayage to its original appearance. I actually showed her the initial balayage before we started so she could have a reference point.
It was more money than I planned on spending for the trim that I had initially wanted, but it was money well spent. I would definitely come back here again! I highly recommend this place.
The atmosphere was modern and hip - I feel like it definitely appeals to college students and ladies in their 20s and 30s. It's decorated with fake plants all over. I think it's super cute! They played popular music the whole time while in the salon.
I have gotten so many compliments on my hair as well since I...
Read moreThey double booked me (and they did NOT inform me of this) with a stylist after requesting I come in early (they called me the same day as my appt a few hours before my appointment, and I had to reschedule my work day to accommodate THEM) because the stylist I booked couldn’t be there (BTW if you cancel they charge you a ridiculous fee but they have no issues cancelling on you). Instead of being honest about double booking me, they tried to cram me into another woman’s appointment which only felt like a money grab. Zero respect for customers time. My new stylist rushed through coloring my roots (which was fairly painful as she tugged my hair and dug the bottom of the comb into my scalp in a rush repeatedly) and then told me I was overreacting after sitting with hair color half done close to an hour and then taking another hour to finish my hair coloring with just a single color. No highlights. Nothing special. Stylist had massive attitude even though her assistant had to finish my color and was going to blow dry me as well. The receptionist and owner were rude. Owner told me I was overreacting after asking ME to come in early and then double booking me. My end result color is not even good. I asked to cover my lowlights and new color does not. Horrible work and unprofessional. Will have to find another salon to fix it. Just lost a regular customer. Won’t be back. Take your money elsewhere. For this price point everything should be stellar and not done 80% by an assistant. Horrible customer service. Horrible stylist. For reference- I showed up at 9:25 for a 9:30 appt. My hair (single color ONLY) was not even done until 1130 (still soaking wet and I booked their ”long hair option” which costs more money) and that does not include any styling. No blow dry or product. Two hours. For a single color with zero styling. Plan accordingly ladies. Apparently single color will be closing in on probably...
Read moreCame here to fix a terrible bleach problem from a previous salon experience elsewhere. Wild Honey did a great job fixing the color for a solid price! At the time I was grateful to have this done with them. I had over-bleaching color and damage issue from trying to go blonde balayage that ended up turning grey and brittle. I was very happy with the color results after my consulted visit until I realized that they want me to keep coming back for $80 toning every other month....to leave the salon unchanged before and after. What is more is that the next time, within the same calendar year, I was recommend to redo the color and cut, silly me trusted their recommendation and felt pressured to keep up.
I was literally charged an arm and a leg for not a drastic change in my hair style, my own mother cannot even see how and why I could have spend that much for the hair I came home with. I was charged $600 for bringing up my balayage color and a trim, and of course the extra charge for having long hair ( shorter than elbow length).... I could not believe my bill when I was leaving after spending my morning there and I honestly was very hurt that they could charge so much for upkeeping hair in the same visit, and the staff there didnt seem bother by the asking for such a high price either. No remorse, no apologies, but plenty of asking if I want to add any of their expensive shampoos on display to the bill... I had trouble paying for my other bills after that.
This is not the price for beauty, I unfortunately am not able nor want to come back to Wild Honey salon, I am a decently paid full-time working person, but I do not have the money to be here....
