My boys are aged 10, 8 and 5 at the time we visited and this park satisfied all three boys. There are multiple playground areas to choose from with varying levels of difficulty depending on age. They made fast friends with people they didn't know and the park area is very beautiful with a lot of trees and shade and grass to sit in. They're also a lot benches to sit down if you're not into grass. Sitting. Bathrooms are within walking distance and we're decent enough for public park bathrooms. Considering balboa park is a main attraction for tourist we really need to do better “San Diego officials”!! My kids love it but the equipment has had hazard signs on it for months. My kids love to be daring and play on it but come on San Diego we need some leaders that can put the money to use to take care of our future leaders that play at the park!!! Read moreThis park sits between Balboa Park on one side and city streets on the other. Newer playground equipment which is nice for the kids, but the grass around them is suffering from the drought. Not the nicest park, but it is ok. I lowered my rating a few stars due to the vagabond yelling at passing cars near the playground and 2 other vagabonds sitting on the bathroom floor. There is a much nicer park on the other side of Balboa Park that is much better suited...
