While I love the variety of coffee flavors offered (rose cardamom, salted maple, etc!), in actuality the coffee is mediocre and flavorless. I am currently sipping on a Salted Maple latte with oat milk that tastes like nothing but coffee and sweet milk and was served to me lukewarm. Last time I got their Ube latte which I was excited for, but the flavor was barely detectable. My husband is currently sipping on a drip coffee that tastes burnt, and they charged him a DOLLAR to add a SPLASH of half & half (???!!!), which is the same amount they charged me to make my whole latte with oat milk.
The inside of the coffee shop itself feels sterile and corporate. The barista's aren't rude, but they're not friendly or welcoming. The pastries were also mediocre and disappointing. We both really wanted to like this place since it's so conveniently located and the flavors sound so yummy but unfortunately it feels like Civita is just curating overpriced cash-grab businesses that look nice but have no soul or quality (like the $15 rolled taquitos that were around the corner.... that place closed...
Read moreI was so very happy to learn that La Clochette had opened up a new location. Not only because it's closer to my home, but because they offer a terrific product. Their espresso based beverages, breakfast items, and pastries are beyond legit.
They are underway with a soft opening at this location. I had an almond croissant and an iced latte. The almond croissant was bliss with the right textures and flavors. I loved that it came loaded with almonds and such. Great eating.
The latte was not only refreshing but flavorful as well. The coffee is rich in coffee flavor. The iced coffee came with just the right amount of ice.
The service the counter was very friendly and with good conversation. They offer inside seating and will soon offer outside seating as well. check out their terrific baked goods. The place offers a...
Read moreThis new bakery is a nice addition to the Mission Valley area, but most importantly the flavors are on point. I ordered the crossaint cinnamon roll. Wow. It's one of the best cinnamon rolls in San Diego! This shop has a clean, modern, and chic design that is steps away from Civita Park. The customer service was great as well. The lady behind the counter warmed up my pastry and it had the perfect flakey to soft ratio. I don't drink coffee, but they offer a varitey of drinks as well as the most mouth watering pastries. If you live nearby and crave some great french pastries, this spot is a must. I can't wait to come back and grab some more delectible...
