A Culinary Paradise: An Unforgettable Experience at Mister A’s
From the moment we stepped into Mister A’s, we were transported to a realm of culinary perfection. Every element of this establishment is nothing short of extraordinary, creating an unparalleled dining experience. From our first order to our final goodbye, every detail was a symphony of excellence.
Service: The service at Mister A’s is nothing less than world-class. The staff is warm, attentive, and impeccably professional, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and discretion. Every request was met with enthusiasm and precision, enhancing the sense of being truly cared for throughout our meal.
Ambience and View: The ambience of Mister A’s is an artful blend of elegance and comfort. The decor radiates sophistication, yet it feels inviting and relaxing. The pièce de résistance, however, is the view—it is utterly breathtaking. Whether gazing out over the city skyline or taking in the soft glow of sunset, the scenery alone would be worth the visit. It sets the stage for an evening to remember.
The Menu and Dishes: Mister A’s menu is a masterpiece of thoughtful curation, showcasing a perfect harmony of classic favorites and innovative creations. Each dish reflects a deep commitment to quality ingredients and expert preparation. • Caesar Salad: A seemingly simple dish elevated to extraordinary heights. The freshness of the crisp romaine, the perfectly balanced dressing, and the exquisite touch of grated parmesan made this the finest Caesar salad I’ve ever encountered. • Chicken Sandwich: Generously portioned, the chicken sandwich was a revelation. Juicy, flavorful, and complemented by impeccable seasoning and accompaniments, it was hearty yet refined. • Creole Shrimp and Heirloom Grits: A culinary marvel. The shrimp were flawlessly cooked, tender yet robust, with a medley of bold Creole spices that sang with flavor. The heirloom grits were a creamy, velvety dream, their delicate texture providing the ideal contrast to the vibrant shrimp. • Creole Bloody Mary: An absolute triumph of mixology. This cocktail was an experience unto itself, a rich, savory blend with just the right kick. It was the perfect complement to the meal, embodying the bold, spirited essence of Creole cuisine.
Conclusion: Dining at Mister A’s was a transcendent experience, a true feast for the senses. The combination of exquisite food, stellar service, and breathtaking views creates an ambiance of luxury and delight. Every dish we tried was a testament to the artistry and passion behind this establishment. Whether for a special occasion or a moment of indulgence, Mister A’s is the pinnacle of fine dining.
We left in awe, already planning our return. Bravo to the team for crafting such a spectacular gem. A must-visit for anyone seeking...
Read moreOne of the best places I've visited for fine dining. Very accomodating and friendly management and staff. Had large group for dinner the first time and they very kindly seated us in a nice private alcove? (Banquet room? ) although we were originally placed at separate tables in the main dining room. Food was fresh, perfectly presented and with outstanding flavors. Wine pairings were perfect. Haven't been there in a while so I hope to go back soon. Addendum: I have gone back quite a few times since I first reviewed the place. The last 2 being immediately before the pandemic and most recently, just after California opened up again. And with each visit, I love the place more and more. Great ambiance, great staff/service and great food. We were lucky enough to get patio seating ( early reservations ). The plan was to watch the sunset. However, the weather did not cooperate and was cloudy that evening. It still afforded great views of airplanes landing, if you're into that.
Addendum: another visit! Made reservation for brunch for a party of 28 for Father's day 4 months before. As it was for a large party, I was offered a semi private room. (Private banquet rooms are available for larger parties or if you so choose) For our size party, price for food and beverage fixed at $4500 minimim which you will have to reach. Gratuities, taxes and other fees (4% surcharge, 20% taxable service fee and rental charges not included in the F and B minimum) 50% of F and B deposit to secure reservation. 3 course meal provided. You will need to choose 2 appetizers, 3 mains and 3 desserts from the brunch menu, less choices for larger parties. Food order totals, even if you choose MP items, will not get you close to the minimum charge. So they recommended using it up through your beverage orders. Could be a problem if your group members are not big drinkers. 🤔. You can, as an option, get enough bottles to-go or to gift to your guests to help you reach the minimum. I did not ask if guests can order another item from the limited menu. I did advise my guests to order from the main menu rather than from the children's menu for their kids. In the end, on top of the drinks ordered with the food, I had to order 3 bottles of Dom Perignon (2 were served) 4 bottles of a rose' champagne (to go), a half bottle of Moscato(to go)and bottle of Cabernet (also served). I did read the fine print and was fully aware of the minimum F and B cost. Needless to say we were all pleasantly buzzed by the end. Don't worry dear reader, there were designated drivers. It was still a very pleasent experience. Service was well worth the service charge + additional if you so choose. I would have liked more food choices to be include in our limited menu although I do...

Got a reservation here for my husband's birthday dinner and he was definitely very happy!
Got the bread and butter for the table (french and onion-rosemary butters) and the bread was nice and warm and crusty on the outside. Exactly what you would want of a baguette. Onion rosemary butter was top notch!
MISTER A’S MAC & CHEESE was actually loaded with pancetta and had a good flavor. Crispy crust on the top from the baking really made it more indulgent. Only thing is I expected it to be more they can creamy on the inside, but it ended up being more runny. Very addictive and hard to stop though.
SPROUTING CAULIFLOWER (with tahini, orange, currant) was unexpectedly good! Tender cooked cauliflower talk with a bunch of currents and tahini. Somehow that combination went so well. The tahini current with cauliflower. Oh man! Totally recommend.
MAPLE LEAF FARM DUCK BREAST (with huckleberry gastrique, couscous, orange supreme, mint, chickpea) duck was cooked really well but I wasn't too fan of the huckleberry gastrique. It was poured all over and also on the couscous so I didn't have that part of the couscous. Duck on its own was really nice and actually went really well with the currents from that cauliflower dish. Plain couscous was lovely! The base was some sort of pureed chickpeas and it was so light and airy. We had no idea what it was until I went to check out the menu. A bowl of that by itself, and neither my husband or I would complain!
RACK OF LAMB (sugar snap pea, mint gremolata, onion petals) came on a really big bed of sugar snap peas. I was surprised by the portion size of the vegetable on this! The onion petals were my favorite part here. So crunchy. Even my husband love them. He actually love the entire thing. Lamb was cooked just right and he was a fan.
Since it was his birthday, they also brought us the birthday special dessert. A Chocolate Mousse coated with Chocolate Ganache topped with berries. That most really was indulgent and lovely! I'm a big fan of dark chocolate flavored desserts and very much against any milk chocolate one and this definitely hit the spot. We both loved it!
Drinks? ME & MINE (you & yours citrus vodka, creme de peche, cordaval dix, honey-lemon syrup, sparkling grapefruit) was so good, I took it for myself and finished it in about 5 minutes even thought it was my husband's! Sweet and you can't taste the alcohol. THE MANGO FROM DURANGO (legendario domingo mezcal, mango, pamplemousse, serrano chile, hellfire shrub) is what I had ordered, but it was too strong and sharp, and I was not a fan of the chile there. Husband liked it and took it.
Server was also very nice and actually quite...
