Talk about killer California Burritos this place has got them! This is the only place that has beautiful golden and crispy fries that actually stay crispy when you bite into the burrito! It's carne asada, cheese, guacamole and pico with fries. The fries remind me of fast food friends like Mc Donalds or Burger King and they stay so crispy you forget if you're eating fries or a burrito! Their hot sauce is also great! It's just a basic nice spicy red or green flavor that does not compete with the flavors in the burrito. Their carne asada fries are also just as good and my boyfriend is always getting the Veggie burrito and is very happy with them as one of the better veggie burritos around! I haven't gotten much else from here since I love their California Burrito and Carne Asada fries so much but, they are quick and even if they are busy it won't take more than 10 mins to get your food. They also were voted vest burrito in SD by the surfer community! Cheap lunch and one that will fill you up until...

PUT SIMPLY: THEE best california burrito on the planet. No exaggeration, may the powers of God smite me if I lie to you all. The cheese, it lucious, the guac—it fresh, the carne—it good, the fries—a must.... but the SALSA!!!!!! The salsa is what really distinguishes this fine edtablishments from others. With a large selection of drinks and accessible service, Nico’s boasts of its superior cullinary professionals and outstanding care over any other Mexican food restaurant that has existed to date in the history of the world. If it’s one thing i understand in life, it’s my cali burritos. Trust this, for the price that you pay, this is surely among the top 10 restaurants on the west coast. Attending a meal in Nico’s fine establishment will be a rewarding, and worth your while if you have embarked, as I have, on the search for the best Mexican restaurants around. I cannot say enough good things about the restaurant, the food, and the wonderful people who work...

My boyfriend and I, while visiting from Baltimore, tried this place after a local we met at a bar recommended it for breakfast. It did not disappoint. Don't question yourself with the menu — you want the California burrito. Trust me. In addition to your protein of choice (I went with carne asada), the California is filled with cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and fries. I can't imagine a better hangover food (though it also hit the spot one morning sans hangover). The rest of the burritos don't quite have the balance this one does. Bring cash — it's cash only — and prepare yourself for a big breakfast, because this bad boy is huge. I was proud of myself for getting through half. Service is wonderful and fast. Salsas...

Delicious California burritos. Definitely better than some of the others we had in San Diego. Fries are actually crispy and NOT soggy. We went early around brunch time and it wasn't crowded at all. The price for one taco is more on the expensive side ($5 for one carne asada...), but it is quite filling and delicious. I've had better horchata elsewhere. For two people, we spent a little over $20. Service was fast even though only one guy handling folks. Definitely say yes if he asks if you'd like salsa.

A small Mexican joint that’s graced Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach for years, Nico’s is a San Diego establishment. They offer solid burritos here that are consistent in quality and size. The California is one of the best in town. They also have a great selection of enchiladas and tostadas. Come hungry because their portions are generous. Be sure to get a handful of red salsas. Take your order down to the boardwalk and have a top tier Mexican lunch while watching the surf.
