This place is amazing. It’s less than a month old so I hear the taproom is a work in progress, but it’s a very relaxed spot with plenty of space to spend the evening. if you like sour’s, you aren’t going to find a better slice of heaven than this spot in OB. I’ve no lie been on a quest to find a brand that can be a “do no wrong” when it comes to my sours. I’ve finally found that with California Wild Ales. From the top to bottom of the tap list, I enjoyed everyone of them. Billy and Monica along with their great staff made me feel so welcome as a solo traveler. I visited probably a dozen bars on my trip to OB, and the atmosphere and friendly staff literally made my trip a little more special as I had genuinely great interactions with everyone. There is passion for their product and a real sense of community in both the beer (many of the fruits are sourced within a few miles) and the bar itself (much of the decor was sourced by a the OB community and donated). If you decide to grab sushi at The Joint, have a pre meal sour or two across the street. Nothing tastes better than a fatty tuna or salmon roll after a tart sour.

Their beer is some of the highest quality sour I’ve every had. Some hit hard on those sour notes. Some are crisp and mild. But all of them unique and well made. They aren’t super filling or full of lactosez So your liver will thank you as much as your taste buds will. get into their stuff now, so you can say “I drank with the owners before they blew up and bought became multi millionaires and bought that yacht out there”. Give the micro flights a try and I recommend the salted plum if you want an outstanding unique beer. If you aren’t into sours, they have a very good IPA and Pilsner as well.

Support this locally owned and operated business and get drunk while doing it. I’m hoping when they expand to Vegas and open a tap room in the arts district. they’ll let me bar back and run drinks in exchange where my paycheck just goes toward...

Will NEVER frequent this establishment again. We were attending the OB market on 8/9/23 and had my 7 month pregnant friend along. She desperately needed to use the rest room so we decided to pop in to buy someone at the bar a drink so she could use their facilities. The line was understandably long and we were waiting with her in line in case she needed assistance. The bartender approached to let us know that the bathrooms were for paying customers only. We explained that as soon as she used the bathroom we would happily buy someone at the bar a drink and that this was an emergency. He rudely gestured for her to get out of line and purchase the drink before using the bathroom. I told him I would happily provide my card and to place an order for any drink for whomever at the bar so she could use the bathroom and he said she couldn't use it until something has been bought. She is 7 MONTHS pregnant and he gave zero consideration for her condition or our willingness to buy something. I have never encountered a more rude or disrespectful employee in the service industry.
