Peet's Coffee — Restaurant in San Diego

Great Peet’s location; friendly and knowledgeable staff and excellent dark roast coffees. Update 5/6/2020: So happy to see the RB Peet's is back in operation. I love Peet's in general and the RB location is among the finest branches. The staff are sweet and cute and super friendly. I noticed a lot of the reviews on here are indifferent and also claim you find better coffee at local establishments and I disagree. Yes there are a few local shops that may offer better coffee, but Peet's major redemption here is the consistency. You can come in any time of the day and have a fresh cup of dark roast coffee. That is not the case at pretty much every other coffee shop. Yes in the early morning, Starbucks brews some pretty good dark roast, but they normally toss anything left between 10-11 am. Same thing for my favorite local coffee hangs. They usually have tasty coffee in the early morning, but by late morning and especially afternoon, they have stale coffee that they will sell you for 4 or 5 bucks that I could just as well get better coffee at McD's at that point. So that is the overwhelming attribute of every Peet's location, that is really really good coffee with complex flavors and freshness you can count on, and at this location, a really groovy gang of kids with smiles all day, and a wonderful sunshiney patio (when there isn't a pandemic going on)! Love Peet's! Also love their espresso drinks which have creative flavors and generally a lot less sugar than other shops, whether local or national chains, which you might as well drink a milkshake for as much sugar as those drinks...

To be clear, the service at this Peet's is stellar. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately my Havana cappuccino order (the only drink I ever order, about twice a month for a couple years) is 50/50. Half the time it's amazing! Which is why it's my favorite. The other half of the time it's gross. Tasting burnt and/or watered down, severely lacking flavor, just wrong. When it's good it brights my whole day. When I sit down at the office, take a sip, and it's bad? It really sucks. And I can't just leave work to go get it fixed, which means no morning coffee. To whoever makes it well if you could maybe retrain...

Zack the young cashier was nasty, just down right nasty! Great cup of coffee, but really do you think I want to spend $5.00 for coffee and put up with attitude from some little kid? All the ads, all the posters, all the hype and it boils down to some little order taker ruining our experience. All because I didn't hear what Zack asked me, he rolled his eyes and became condescending.

All that money spent creating Peet's unique experience to have someone hired like him to ruin it?
