Tldr, An exquisite and remarkable delight!!! If you're one of those folks that say you like OliveG then go to McDonald's, grab a McChicken and put a craft singles slice on top of it slathered in ketchup you probably would call it a chicken parm...rethink your life choices and GO TO PEZZI DEL MIO CUORE!!!
Disclaimer* this isn't like a family style sharing portion however the portions for each individual order/meal were massive!
This was an experience. Vibe and atmosphere is peak aesthetic ngl I felt a little under dressed but thankfully it's not a black tie restaurant.
The service was above and beyond! Courteous and professional wait staff. They sold the experience.
The food. THE FOOD. Molto bene! Ngl I will tell you because I had my doubts but b r o t h e r/s i s t e r. We started with the insalata and antipasti. The Caesar salad was really well done idk if they make their own dressing but it definitely doesn't taste like a store bought dressing this was done right.
Antipasti mediteranto. The freshest seafood I have had during my existence of living in California and I'm from an island and go fishing. The calamari and octopus were tender. It was not chewy or rubbery at all. The balsamic vinegar the olive oil were just right. The arugula and tomatoes crispy and fresh.
Meatballs were as described meatballs. Freshly minced meat with just the right amount of herbs and spices. The sauce is what really brought it all together and dipping the freshly baked bread on it was amazing.
Scapolline marsalas. Soo most of the time at Italian joints I get a carbonara, ciopinno or the chicken marsala. I ordered the marsala at Pezzi del mio Cuore. Reading must've been hard for me that day coz I wasn't expecting mash potatoes I was expecting pasta. So that was my error not the restaurants lol; HOWEVER, this dish was amazing. The mash potatoes were light, creamy yet firm and it was fluffy in your mouth. The pork used as the protein in this dish was even moreso just as divine. It was seasoned really well and to my surprise it was not dry. The sauce. My god the sauce! Creamy, rich, full and robust. I truly did enjoy this dish and I want more.
My wife got the carbonara and she enjoyed it as did I and that was the best carbonara I ever had in California. The rich creamy sauce had a layer of smokiness which add some depth to the dish.
My table also ordered the lobster ravioli and the gnocchi. The lobster ravioli was just as exquisite. The sweet meat paired with the sauce was really out of this world! I didn't get to fully experience the gnocchi because I was already quite full with my meal but from what my friend said they enjoyed it very much.
I will be definitely returning because I want to try different dishes on their menu.
If you're in the area and just came from hanging out at Old Town San Diego I implore you to visit and dine...

We had an absolutely incredible lunch here and can't recommend it enough! We opted for a family-style meal and every single dish was a hit.
We started with whole artichokes that were tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned—such a unique and delicious way to kick off the meal. The pasta dishes were out of this world: three different seafood pastas, each one rich, fresh, and full of flavor. The cheese ravioli in sage butter was melt-in-your-mouth good—simple but done so well.
The salmon with lemon caper sauce was another standout—perfectly cooked with a bright, tangy sauce that complemented it beautifully. We finished with a chocolate lava cake (pure decadence!) and a crisp, creamy cannoli. A sweet ending to an unforgettable meal.
The service was just as exceptional as the food. It's a family-run place, and the father-son duo made us feel like we were guests in their home—warm, attentive, and passionate about what they do.

Read moreThis place is AMAZING. I am not sure how it wasn't busy when we visited. I don't right reviews all the time, but this place deserves a wonderful one. Pezzi del mio Cuore should be packed all the time because of how incredible it is. The quality of the food and service was exceptional. The wait staff was checking in and had great recommendations. They were also very kind.
You can find a lot of great options on the menu, and they also made it a point to mention they would be able to accommodate things on the menu due to dietary needs. The bread the ricotta ravioli, pesto lasagna, and creme brûlée was delicious! This will definitely be a spot we go to several times!
