Roberto's Taco Shop — Restaurant in San Diego

Horrible experience. Called order in. Picked up food and brought back to hotel to have breakfast before our day at seaworld. Every breakfast burrito in our order was incorrect. Didn’t have time to go back to the shop to take care of order prior to starting our day. Ended up eating chips and granola bars for breakfast instead. Called and talked to Oscar once we realized the order was incorrect, he said to come back at the end of the day for our refund. He said to bring the receipt and that was it. We returned for our refund with receipt and was then told we had to bring the food back. Long story short we decided that we would take care of it the following morning since we just happened to leave the nasty tasting food on the table in the hotel room anyways. $27 for 3 incorrect burritos is ridiculous. Menus pricing and descriptions are incorrect. Food is nasty and meat tastes like it’s come from the freezer. Don’t waste...

Let me preface this review with the fact that we've eaten at two really solid Mexican spots before eating here: the taco stand and City taco.

After a long day at SeaWorld, we figured we'd get some Mexican food close to our hotel. After all, ratings was decent.

Ordered carne asada, fish, and carnitas tacos. The asada beef was dry and flavorless! The fish was average, and carnitas was salty. Sure the portions was big but that doesn't mean it was good. Plus it was quite pricey.

It was disappointing as the reviews made it seem like this place actually had good food. And after a long day, all we wanted was decent food; this was sub-decent.

I wanted to give it a couple of stars but could not find a good reason. Bad food, an order blunder, and opening the door to a transient doing the duty justified...

This place is great! I ordered the first night we got in town and tried their California Burrito. It had Carne guisada with fries, Sour cream, cheese and I added guacamole. It was delicious. We also order a taco plate which came with two crunchy tacos, rice and beans.

I went back for breakfast on my birthday. The first time I had it delivered and this time I went in to order. The staff was very friendly. I had a potato, bacon, egg and cheese burrito. It would have been a breakfast taco but they only have burritos for breakfast. It was so big that I could barely eat half! I would recommend this as a definite must stop. Maybe just split...
