Just had the most frustrating experience at Sam’s Club. On 24Nov2024, I placed an online cake order which I had to go into the store to figure out how to place the order for a digital picture on the cake because the website is NOT user friendly and does NOT offer all the options in the book catalog in store. I placed the order verifying with the cake team before submission that I submitted it correctly. The day before pick up 26Nov, I call to verify the order and digital picture code. To my surprise the woman who answered the phone tells me that it’s a Mickey Mouse cake which is NOT the code I put, she then goes to tell me that I ordered a plan cake. I inform her that it is a digital print with the code in the message. She tells me that she needs to get the cake designer because that is not her area. Cake designer gets on the phone to confirm the order and digital picture. 27Nov at 3pm I go to pick up the cake and guess what? It’s a Lilo & Stitch print on my son’s 3rd birthday cake. I ask if they can fix it because my son’s birthday is on Thanksgiving and the store will be closed so I cannot wait till the next day. She tells me it’s her but she’s leaving and that she can print out the picture and give it to me to put on top of the cake. I tell her no, that I feel comfortable with her correcting the cake that they did wrong in the first place. While it’s printing off she finish cleaning up, then goes to place the print with no gloves or washing her hands till I stop her and ask her wear gloves. What I do not understand is if you’re going to make changes like this it should be clear directions and the staff should have been trained on the process. Also, why does the cake designers get off work at 2pm when majority of the working class people who shop at Sam’s Club gets off work after 3pm? So if there’s errors with the cake no one is there to fix the orders! Now, here is my son’s birthday and guess what I find out? The print is still on the paper? NOT edible! I am very upset and extremely dissatisfied. Would never recommend or will order a cake from Sam’s Club again.

Big box retailer selling bulk items at discounted prices. They've adhered completely with all of the preventive measures mandated by the CDC and local government authorities all while doing their best to keep items in high demand in stock. TP was always a challenge to find anywhere since the pandemic started, but I can gladly say that I have found it on the shelf in my last 2 visits. I didn't have to be there at the crack of dawn (pun intended) to do so; walked in late afternoon and there is was. They have very similar items & services as Costco, bakery/tire & battery shop/food court/pharmacy/photo center/rotisserie chickens, but not exactly the same brands. They also, like Costco, have a private label Members Mark brand that saves you even more vs name brands; I recently tried there paper plates/bowls and they were up to par with what Dixie offers. Going back social distancing measures; this is where I can say they are easily a step ahead of the game. It's a convenience that already existed before the pandemic, it's called Scan & Go and makes waiting in line a thing of the past... you scan your items with your phone and checkout right from your phone! Another convenient option is curbside pickup; you don't even need to get out of your car! It's as easy as ordering online and paying for your order, choosing a pick-up day/time, waiting for Sam's to text you that your order is ready, you let them know that you arrived and they will bring your order out to whatever # spot you parked in. What's my favorite thing to buy there? The delicious watermelons of course! You can't find a sweeter watermelon anywhere! Unfortunately that are out of season right now.

Sam’s Club has a special membership deal that ends 4/30/2024 for $14 a year compared to $50. There’s only one Sam’s Club in San Diego, the next closest would be Fountain Valley or Murrieta. Sam’s Club is like a combination of Costco and Wal-Mart products. They have their own brand called Member’s Mark. At first glance, the warehouse seems huge because it’s mainly name brand products. You barely see Member’s Mark. There are a few items that Costco doesn’t carry that I’ve been getting for the past decade. It’s the Nature Well coconut oil moisturizer cream under $10. The cafe (food court) is similar to Costco w a dink combo w hot dog for $1.38. We find Costco hot dog to be better because their bun is way softer but Sam’s Club bun has sesame seeds. We got a slice of pepperoni pizza and sausage & pepperoni. We also got the pizza pretzel. I prefer the pizza here because the dough and crust is more fluffy and has air pockets. For the drinks, you can get soda or ICEE! There’s also tons of bottled drinks for purchase. You do need your membership to enter and to purchase from the food court. It’s all on the mobile app. There are self check out. The tire center and optical shop is all indoor. You can’t go wrong with either membership. However, this Sam’s location does not offer gas.

4/19/25 Yesterday I went to Sam's did some shopping self check out great btw no issues .

My issue is with cafe and staff as majority of everyone's review on here from what I've read. My husband happened to go to the car to take our groceries we just bought and he placed a cafe order on the app .

ISSUES AND RUDE CAFE STAFF DOESNT HAPPEN LIKE THIS AT COSTCO .

I then proceeded to the counter there was no line to show them my mobile app order and he tells me sorry we don't accept screenshots. I then proceeded to log into the app yes I know my husbands info to do so and showed him and he refused to serve me claiming it wasn't the app but a screenshot . I told the man okay my husband placed the order he isn't here he's in the car. I asked if he can look up the order to match it to my screen shot to show I'm not scamming the cafe for 2 slices of pizza and a hot dog 🙄 $10 value .... he said no sorry we don't do that I said well can I speak to a manager please he said no sorry no managers here .The funny thing is the person before me and after me he did not question their order nor asking them to show proof it's the app not a screenshot . This is discrimination at its finest to selectively pick which customer he wants to question . When my husband arrived he showed him his app order . My husband asked me what happened I'm telling my husband what's happening and the worker instead of serving me he intervenes in the conversation between me and my husband... and tells him well your wife said your outside not in the restroom... and I said he showed you the app can I please have my order and then proceeds to start getting loud and saying your cussing at me your cussing at me and my husband told him no she's not and his new response was do you want a refund I said no I want my food I showed you the app now can I please have my food and he continued to repeatedly scream you want a refund like 4 times. Till another worker intervened asking can I help you and then he said no I'm getting their food for them in a nice calm manner .

Yesterday the cafe eating areas trash was filled to the top over flowing , out of Pepsi syrup and dirty condiments counter . All that attitude and huffing and puffing that worker was doing could have been put to use cleaning the condiment area .

The worker was a short chubby Hispanic male with glasses and his hair combed back I would say in his early 50s- he was wearing a baby blue collared shirt . This man deserves to be fired or sent back to training and do another course on customer relations and hospitality . He needs to work in the back he does not know how to interact with...

It's a good store but I didn't like today's visit. There was some kids in the toy section just taking things out and throwing themselves in the plush bins with shoes on. Then there was a lot of items today that were opened and 1-3 things were missing from the packages so I had to double check to make sure they were complete. The lines were starting to get long to pay but people were just standing there, blocking. I feel like there wasn't enough staff. This was my first Sunday coming here. I don't think I'll do that again lol i know that most times they don't ask for membership id but I think they should if they want to prevent anymore theft.

06/27/25 I placed a grocery delivery order that never arrived. I contacted Sam’s Club corporate on Saturday and was told the store was unable to secure a driver. I was given two options: a refund or to wait. I chose to wait for the delivery.

Today (Monday), I followed up with corporate again, only to find out that my order had been automatically canceled without any explanation or notes in the system. I was told my refund may take 4–5 business days to process.

Throughout the weekend, I attempted to contact the store directly multiple times, but no one ever answered. Corporate also tried reaching the store and experienced the same issue. At no point was I contacted by anyone from Sam’s Club about my order. There was zero communication, which is extremely frustrating and disappointing. I'm not bothered that I didn't get my delivery i know things can happen but the lack communication and not getting updates, that's what I didn't appreciate. Idk why it was canceled. Was it an error on my end or theirs? Am I able to put in another order and not get...
