Nestled on 5th Ave. in the heart of San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood, the Deli Llama is a local gem that welcomes you with its flavors and service. The atmosphere exudes warmth and charm, creating the perfect backdrop for a delightful sandwich stop. The quick and efficient service at Deli Llama adds to the overall appeal, ensuring that your meal is served promptly, and nice and hot (depending on your order), without compromising on quality. The menu boasts a tantalizing array of sandwiches and wraps, each offering a customizable journey for your taste buds. We tried the "Fire Eater," a masterfully crafted creation featuring melted pepper jack on succulent turkey, adorned with a medley of fresh fixings. The pièce de résistance was the chipotle aioli, adding a perfect kick to the ensemble, all wrapped in a seared spinach wrap that exploded with wonderful flavors and textures. One cannot overlook the impressive wall of drinks, a testament to the Deli Llama's commitment to catering to diverse palates. From refreshing water to classic sodas and locally crafted IPAs, there's a beverage option for everyone. Our visit to the Deli Llama was nothing short of a delight, leaving us eager to return and explore more of their menu. Whether you're a local seeking a reliable go-to spot or a visitor looking for a taste of San Diego's vibrant food scene, Deli Llama is a must-visit destination.

Fresh fresh fresh! Was recommended this spot by a friend and finally stopped by. I am mad at myself I did not come here earlier! Me and my wife got a sandwich each and we shared halves. I got the magician which comes with chicken and mushroom. My wife got the fire eater which is turkey with the homemade chipotle ! Great thing about here is all the sauces are home made! I like the fire eater better than the magician bc I love spicy! My wife loves mushrooms so she enjoyed the other half of my knife thrower! The sandwiches were so good we decided to take one home. We got the knife thrower which comes pastrami with sauerkraut. That was my favorite. Definitely coming back here!

“Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck." - Dalai Lama My girlfriend didn’t allow me to go to the food joint that I wanted. She made the decision to get sandwiches instead… I must say that I’m one lucky man to stumble upon the Deli Lama! This is the BEST sandwich shop that I’ve ever been to in my entire life. We took the sandwiches to the zoo and ate them a couple hours later. The sandwiches held up. They weren’t that soggy, and the flavour was mind blowing. Fire eater and sword swallower were divine creations Find me a better sandwich shop…I’ll wait

I recently discovered this incredible deli called Deli Llama and I have to say, it's hands down the best deli spot I've ever been to in my life. I have tried almost every sandwich on the menu, and each time I order, it continues to amaze me. The Deli Llama has done an amazing job with their sandwich creations because every single sandwich I try becomes a new favorite! What's also exciting is that their soups are different every day! So, every time I order from Deli Llama, I get to try something new and delicious. It really adds an element of surprise to my meal. I have to mention how friendly the staff is. Jason and Austin are extremely helpful in picking out a sandwich to satisfy my cravings for the day! They always greet me with a smile and genuinely make me feel welcome. It's those little things that make the overall experience at Deli Llama even better. I highly recommend giving Deli Llama a try if you haven't already. Trust me, you won't be...

This place is good! I really really enjoyed myself here when I stopped in after some errands in Hillcrest. The sandwiches were so unique and the bread some of the freshest I've had in some time! I got The Illusionist, which I was told would be spicy and although I didn't find it very spicy it was VERY good! They also carry soup which in my mind is so hard to find! I didn't get any but, asked which soups she had that day and I was told Chicken and Dumpling, second choice being Mushroom Brie. Both sound out of this world! The french bread was some of the best I've had in awhile, it wasn't too hard on the outside but, had a good crust and it was easy to bite. I can't wait next time that I'm in Hillcrest for lunch and in the mood for a sandwich I will heavily consider stopping in here again! Especially as the weather cools and I start...
