Came here with my fiance for dinner after spending a lot of time trying to decide what restaurant to try on our single night in Vegas.
++ HUGE PORTION SIZES Like for real. The food was definitely a lot. If we weren't people with big appetites, one entree item could serve two people.
-- NO CUSTOMIZATIONS. This was quite a disappointment that they don't allow to modify anything.
That sage fried chicken really got our attention!
My fiance got the Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict: griddled mashed potatoes, split biscuit, spinach, tomatoes, hickory smoked bacon, Andy's famous fried chicken, scrambled eggs, griddled Mozzarella, chipotle cream sauce It didn't look like a classic Eggs Benedict since it had the scrambled eggs, But everything went amazing together. He really devoured that meal! To be honest. I could have finished it all myself as well. What a beauty! Those biscuits were really fresh and great to have on their own too.
What I really wanted was that fried chicken and waffle combination but I tried to keep the carbs low that night. I got the Black Skillet Chicken Dinner: Chili crusted chicken breasts on garlic mash with hickory-smoked bacon, syrup, charred tomato, asparagus, and soy BBQ sauce.
One major downside is that they don't allow any customizations here! I asked for no garlic mash and extra asparagus instead, but the server flat-out refused. I asked to remove the tomatoes and I had extra asparagus, no option for that either.
Presentation on this was really good but flavor was just okay. Nothing so special about that chicken. Felt pretty standard and plain. The garlic mash was definitely amazing though. So was that bacon. I wouldn't mind being the price for that mash and bacon itself. Ended up taking one of the chicken breasts pieces home for...
Read moreWe usually go to HHAGG when we visit San Diego and have a good experience. Not this time. The food was ok. I ordered the tractor driver breakfast which comes with a gigantic pancake, eggs and sausage. I was asked if I want cheese which I said yes (for $2 more which they don't tell you when you order). It appears that when you order the $2 worth of cheese with scrambled eggs, they scoop some eggs and then layer a huge amount of what to me is low quality cheddar cheese and just melt that on top of the scoop of eggs making a runny greasy mixture of eggs to go with the greasy sausage that comes with the meal. The pancake was good, but came with a very small thimble of syrup. I should also add that the water was in an equally small glass. I guess they want you to order one of the fancy alcoholic drinks, but I don't drink so stuck to the water. We receive the food and the waitress asks if I want more syrup. Seeing the thimble of syrup, I said yes. Never saw her until we were ready to leave. The waiter also was a no show for most of the meal. By the middle of the meal, I had run out of water, but couldn't find the waiter. He finally comes by without any syrup and I ask for water. He then disappears again for several minutes then shows up at the table next to us to chit chat with I guess people that order fancy drinks. He then leaves again and finally comes back with water which at that point I had lost my appetite for. I just asked for the check which is when I was offered more syrup by the original lady. Can't say that I will be coming back as this place has really...
Read moreHuge plate with big portions! That’s my impression of this place after we had breakfast there on Palm Sunday. Not only the portions are big, the food are excellent too! Now this is our favorite breakfast place in San Diego.
Our daughter told us about this place which she visited in Chicago and liked their food. The whole family went to Hash House agogo to have Sunday Brunch. The wait was very short as we got there by 9 am. By the time we left, we saw a huge crowd on the street waiting for their seats.
The receptionist was super nice and waited patiently for all our parties to arrive and patiently holding the seats for us. The waitress was even nicer. She introduced to us all the popular dishes and then got our hot chocolate and lattes immediately.
This restaurant serves mainly locally sourced fresh ingredient American breakfast. We got the three most popular dishes, namely the crowd pleaser- Sage fried chicken waffle tower, smoke salmon egg Benedict and wild boar chilaquiles. All three dishes came with huge portions and a gigantic plate. You got to have a big table for everything. I had to share the sage fried chicken waffle dish with my daughter and we still had left overs. The food were delicious. The smoke salmon egg Benedict was especially good. The sauce had a good combination of egg Benedict sauce with some spicy kicks.
Only Sunday has no reservation availability, all other days in the week, you can go online to reserve a table.
Although it was hard to find parking, we were able to park on the street in the next block. You can also park across the street with...
