In the past I had only eaten here at night when everything else was closed and had a terrific time. The food was on point and always lots of it... which is why I struggled with the idea of writing this negative review, but I feel like the people in charge and guests should know. I'm a recent San Diego transplant so it's bewildering to me that the absolute worst Carne Asada I've ever had was made in a town with prized Mexican food. For reference the meat in question was inside a quesadilla. The carne was gristle, chewy, and coated with a thick later of vegetable oil. Something about it tasted rancid, like the meat was old and had gone bad. It may have been the overpowering slick of oil, which also has a tendency to go rancid much more quickly than most people realize. I opened up the tortilla to see if maybe I just had a single bad bite, but all the meat was the same: rubbery and completely grey with an off putting smell. Completely grey is not hyperbole, I was astounded at how terrible the meat looked and dug around to see if any of the meat at all had a savory brown color... not a single piece. I gave it to my husband who has a much stronger stomach than me and will eat almost anything, and even he was repulsed and refused to touch it. I live close to this location and have thought about coming back but every time I get a flash of my last meal there and I feel nauseous thinking about it... hence this review. I've said before I've come here frequently and this was the first time I haven't been satisfied... but this was such a disgusting awful mistep that I felt compelled to say something. I want to be able to come back and trust that my food would be good, I like this restaurant and the people who work here, but there are literally thousands of other Mexican joints here I could spend my hard earned cash on and delivering an inedible product is just not excusable in...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Tony's Fresh Mexican Food, I had the pleasure of experiencing their fajitas, and I must say, they did not disappoint. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, capturing the essence of authentic Mexican culture.
The fajitas arrived beautifully presented on a plate, a delightful mix of colorful bell peppers, onions, and perfectly seasoned strips of chicken, beef, and succulent shrimp. The aroma was intoxicating, hinting at the rich, smoky flavors to come. Each bite was a harmonious blend of tender meat, juicy shrimp, and crisp vegetables, wrapped in soft, warm tortillas. The accompanying guacamole, sour cream, and salsa were fresh and added the perfect balance of creamy and tangy notes.
What truly elevated my dining experience was the exceptional customer service provided by Danna. From the outset, she greeted me with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm, making me feel right at home. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she offered insightful recommendations. Danna was attentive without being intrusive, and that I had everything I needed to enjoy my meal to the fullest.

Read moreDisappointed, let me first start off saying I was looking forward to a good Carne Asada Burrito. After my last experience a couple of weeks ago I have been putting off getting another one. So sad. Let me first start and say I love a good burrito, not sure if laziness has anything to do with it or what but come on! Its a burrito. Went through the drive thru, maybe waited less than 10-15 minutes. Cashier friendly. Received my burrito and I was amped, from the outside it appeared to be a good size burrito for 12$. Also mine was a little more than normal. I added cheese. First bite and something was off taste wise and meat appeared to be very dry, as I have stated before, I dont use salsa added as I prefer to taste the burrito, I could handle the dry burrito but unfortunately I am dissatisfied and disappointed at all the little charred pieces in my mouth that are scattered throughout the burrito. Dang it I say, the meat didn’t appear to be burnt but maybe it was mixed with old meat, or maybe the grill, whoever is supposed to clean the grill or flat top introduced all the charred remains into the burrito meats?? Anyhow not sure but anyone who is in charge of the kitchen should know better and should at least train the crew so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I am only leaving this comment so someone will do a better job and maybe check that there is no charred bits in any other burritos going forward. Have...
