It had been a few years since I last visited Pizza Nova, but the one thing I’ve always remembered was their awesome location. Great views of the marina, comfortable booths and great lighting with large windows. Plenty of outdoor seating as well as parking. The staff are inviting, friendly and capable.

Firstly, the complimentary garlic rolls were delicious. They were garlicky, oily and cheesy. The rest of the food however, we found to be mostly mediocre. We ordered their fish and chips entree as well as the roasted tomato, arugula and prosciutto wood fired pizza. The fish was bland, but the fries were well seasoned and crispy. The pizza had fresh ingredients, but the lemon olive oil overpowered everything else. Personally, I think it would have helped if the prosciutto was slightly cooked. My daughter ordered their “build your own pizza.” She chose pepperoni and cheese for her toppings. She was disappointed to find out that she doesn’t actually get to build her own pizza, as in put the ingredients together, but rather, just order the toppings. She thought the pizza was tasty though.

For my beverage, I ordered an old fashioned. After my first one, I asked the waiter if it was made with Maker’s because it tasted of just, well whiskey. I was assured it was made with Maker’s. The second one I ordered, tasted as if it was made with Maker’s. What a mystery.

We paid $126.06 with tip. Pizza Nova may not be on the top of our list, but there is a chance we would make a return visit; maybe we’ll find something on the menu that will...

This review is from a first timer here. Our party came to celebrate a pastor wifes birthday. First off the parking situation was horrible. None the less we finally arrived at the restaurant and I was excited to try this new place out. We had reservations and our party was given a small section so I asked very nicely if we could use a booth for a family with kids that was coming and OMG! Did I get my head bit off by the manager Celeste. She was aggressive and extremely rude. Never have I been treated so poorly at a restaurant in my life. She literally went off on a rant about how we were taking up way to much space,we weren't ordering food yet and if they can't accommodate us we could leave.I mean is that what you call customer service?! We are bringing you buisness and alot of it. She also went off on the Pastor who planned this celebration who was still polite to her. The fact he made reservations the week earlier and they were more then willing to accommodate our party but changed as soon as we got there is beyond me.! If we hadn't been there for a birthday party I would have left and never spent a dime there. They did not deserve my business nor anyone else's with a manager like that. I will say this though our waiter Mario had good customer service. Now that I see the other bad reviews I'm not surprised, I just wish we never wasted our...

Evening of October 22nd around 8pmI never got my entre. Waitress never checked on our table not even once after everyone else got there food. One of us never got any water. We never got water refills. I watched her check on other tables literally behind and next to us multiple times. The only time she came to our table was to ask us to pay and I said is my entre ready I never got my pasta I figured maybe this whole time the food was just taking long to make. I tried to get her attention every time she walked by but she just walked past us. She told me oh you had pasta ? Even though I had no food served to me yet everyone at our table was done eating. I told her yes and she says oh that’s right I can have them make it for you now. Everyone at the table would be waiting for my food and waiting for me to eat at that point so I asked her just take it off the bill. Than was given a cookie to make up for it? Felt very patronizing. I can’t even eat chocolate. Our table was right next to the POS computer the waitress seemed to forget that as well and started talking about our table to another waitress. How rude we were literally right next to them. I didn’t yell make a scene at the table. I love Pizza Nova but I do not understand what I did or what my table did to be...

Got it! Let’s blend that original flair with a touch more polish and Google Maps readiness. Here’s your elevated, classy-local-favorite version—ideal for standing out in reviews while still being helpful: Pizza Nova – A San Diego Staple This local favorite hits all the right notes—crispy, wood-fired crusts, fresh gourmet toppings, and a marina view that makes any meal feel like a mini vacation. Whether you’re craving a classic margherita or something bolder like prosciutto with arugula, the flavors are thoughtful and beautifully balanced. The Nova Salad is a standout, and yes, it is big enough to share—if you’re feeling generous. Service is consistently friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is relaxed, coastal, and perfect for everything from a casual lunch to a low-key date night. Free parking is available in the lot out front, and you can usually find a spot—especially if you’re coming early evening or midweek. Pro tip: sit outside if you can. Watching the boats glide by while sipping sangria or a craft beer with pizza fresh from the oven? Pure San Diego magic.

Pizza Nova in Point Loma is my go-to spot for lunch — they have a great lunch special, and their pizza is always fresh, flavorful, and made with unique toppings that stand out. I especially enjoy the smoked salmon with arugula pizza (so unique!) and the feta cheese pizza. Their pasta is also very good — the Bolognese is my favorite. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the harbor, which makes it a really nice option for a casual meal with a view. The atmosphere is clean, pleasant, and relaxed. The only downside is that the lunch special doesn’t include a gluten-free option, so I had to pay extra for the gluten-free crust. It would be nice if they worked something out for gluten-free customers to make it a bit more budget-friendly. On our last visit, our server also mixed up a pasta order, and I was surprised it still showed up on the bill — I didn’t feel like arguing at the time, but it was a little disappointing. That said, I keep coming back because the food is consistently good, the pizza is excellent, and the views are hard to beat. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.
