This place is always on point and yesterday was the exception to that rule. I think the waitress Regina needs to pay more attention. I had gotten a text from this places marketing about heart shaped pupusas and love music. So I asked her if they were going to have heart shaped pupusas because that is what we came for. She said they stopped doing those. I asked why because I had gotten a text saying they would have them all weekend. Anyways my wife ask for her order and I asked for mine. My order came out wrong and I confronted her asking her if she had put down one of pork and one of cheese. She said that I had stated one of cheese and one of pork. I personally hate when waitresses put words in my mouth when I know what I want to eat. Just make it right. The revueltas where really salty that night and my wife confirmed as those are her favorite. Plus they were on the small side and mainly massa. Total disappointment. I asked for one taco to fill that void. Half hour later I got my one taco and she had said that tacos are four dollars, which I think she gave me the Tuesday special of $2 and the taco was tasty but didn't make up for the time. Organization was just not there. They could have moved us to a table of two I stead of the table we had as big groups where standing around and playing musical chairs as people left. Until the cook came out and wrong on the sign please wait to be seated. Would I come back? Would you? I might but at a slower time but the place needs to expand and the waitress should pay more attention to clients as I waved her down for my check and was ignored all times, till I walked up to the other guy and he gave me my bill. Roxanne keep up the good service and the live music good choice. I thought Oscar and Paul rocked only reason you got three stars this time around. Love you...
Read moreI had not been to a place with amazing pupusas in a long time since I moved to the IE. On my way back from LA I decided to try them out and I was not disappointed one bit. They are open both indoor & outdoor for dining. Their outdoor patio dining area is amazing and the tables are spaced out. The cashier told me that everything was amazing because their cook knew hot to cook. Let me tell you she was not wrong at all. We ordered the Torta Sliders which were to die for. The order comes with (3) I got (2) carnitas and (1) asada both had incredible flavor. I loved them because they had the works in them: cabbage, onion, tomato, avocado, cotija cheese, sour cream. Delicious. Hubby got the birria and he said it was really good. I opted for the pick (3) combo so I choose (2) queso con loroco pupusas & the fried plantains with fried beans and sour cream. They do bring you chips while you are waiting with the most flavorful & delicious red sauce I've ever had. So much so I had to ask for more salsa. We also got the (12) pupusa platter to take home for only $38 which is an awesome price because they are a decent size. They give you a big bag of curtido & salsa for the pupusas. You can also pick what you'd like inside of them. Fyi they do not have chicharron with queso but they do have shredded pork with cheese and those are super good. Shout out to Madeline for being so amazing she is such a great waitress. She is the one who said that their food was all good and she was right. If you are ever in the area this place is truly a must try. They have a wide variety of food so there is definitely something...
Read moreSalvadorian Restaurant, I typically frequent more Mexican than Salvadoran restaurants, so I am stating my bias from the start. Had an asada burrito, and it was great. The green sauce was great, decent heat, very tangy. Honestly if this were sold by the bottle I would buy some. Would make some outstanding nachos. Rice and beans are okay. Mind you I believe were Salvadoran style, but I don't know for sure. Pupusa was good, uncertain if I have had better. Wanted to try a tamale, but they were out. Staff were friendly. Location is okay to get to, will want to be headed north on San Dimas Ave so as to not have to deal with the median. Okay parking, might have to drive a little if no spots available. Entrance and parking are accessible. Review during COVID so no idea about bathrooms. Will likely return to again in the future.
Overall food is pretty good, not sure how it fares compared to other Salvadorian food. Will definitely return to try the tamales and get more...
