IHOP — Restaurant in San Fernando

My mom wished to celebrate her birthday at IHOP on 08/13/24. On that day, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. It was my family and a customer eating alone. My brother had to go get the waitress because she took a long time to come take out order. My family ordered their food and I ordered a sampler and a side of broccoli. As I ate my broccoli I realized it was very hard and the pieces were a little too big so I began to cut it. I THEN LOOKED CLOSELY AT THE BROCCOLI AND WAS DISGUSTED TO SEE THAT IT WAS INFESTED IN MAGGOTS!! There were worms all over the stems of the broccoli. And worse, I had already eaten some. I freaked out and went to the waitress immediately to let her know. I showed her the worms on the broccoli. Then I ran to the bathroom to throw up. When I came back, I told the waitress that I wanted to take pictures of the broccoli and she said she threw it in the trash already. I told her I couldn't believe that whoever is cooking the food isn't washing it or inspecting the food before cooking it or steaming it. Of course, my family and I were all upset, disgusted and disappointed that one of our favorite restaurants would let us down on our mom's special day. It's been a week since this happened and I'm finally able to speak about this without getting a panic attack. Because of this, I have no desire to eat at any restaurant. I WILL NEVER EAT AT THIS OR ANY OTHER IHOP RESTAURANT EVER AGAIN. To anyone reading this, my only advise is, please inspect your food whenever...

I want to say that the overall experience could have been a whole lot better. There was like 2 different radio stations going on playing the music, Confusing to say the least. Let's talk about the food and the service.. The chicken omelet was not prepared properly as the chicken was sprinkled about the top of the egg with the cheese on top of the egg. I'm not sure if the cook knows how to make an omelet. But the food was well done. I did order an appetizer before I ordered my main meal, but they all came at the same time, Really confused as to why my appetizers came at the same time my meal came.. The customer service is really weak and it made the whole experience that much is that much worse. Have you ever had to reach out to the waitress or waiter to get a drink of water because your cup was left empty at the edge of the table not once but twice. Did you ever have to flag down the waitress or waiter, will I did well I did. I had to get the waitress attention as well as the waiter's attention just for a refill or to bring me additional items.

Overall this is the 1st time I've had a really bad experience at ihop, Some of you might be wondering was it busy and maybe that caused the delay, Sadly for those who were thinking that, there were only 2 customers in there at the time, that was myself and the lady and her kid across from me. That's probably why that location doesn't have the patronship it should have

Worst customer service I have ever experienced, not only by the waitress but also the manager on Duty. My grandmother treated us to a Memorial Day Breakfast, just to end up receiving this horrible experience (I did not get the name of our waitress but she wears alot of makeup with winged eyeliner, and the Manager had his hair slicked back) Our waitress NEVER came around to see how we were, and forgot to bring half of my order!! My grandmother gave her the money to pay the bill, and she never came back with our change, a to go bag, or the hot chocolate we ordered. To top it all off my grandmother asked the manager if she was given a Senior discount, and his rude response was "did you ask you waitress for one" she responded "she can see I'm a Senior" and he said "there is nothing I can do about it if you didn't ask for it" she said "well I'm asking now" the manager responded "like I said there is NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT"....We paid in cash, not like we paid with a credit or debit card, so they could have easily did the math and gave her the discount, especially for the horrible service we received. I will NEVER go back...
