Came here for hookah but I did have a few appetizers. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere in the little patio and the service was great. This place is on the expensive side, though.
Came here for the first time recently to smoke hookah. Though this is mainly a restaurant, you can smoke hookah on the back patio. You have to go through the kitchen to get there, which feels a little weird, and it is open to the air. The heat lamps do a decent job of chasing away the cold, and they'll bring you hot tea.
the flavor menu is decent but contains no special flavors, making the $20 price a bit high. However, they're not stingy with the coals, update them regularly, and also check on the quality of smoke when they do. That's a big plus.
The patio area is narrow and there aren't many tables. If you have a big group just know that 5 - 6 fit in one corner, but if that's occupied you won't be able to sit comfortably. Also, all the chairs are metal with little padding, meaning you can't really lounge.
In addition to hookah, I also ordered the hummus with meat and french fries, which tasted great. Especially the hummus. Again, a little high priced for an appetizer, so you'll just have to be prepared for that.
Bottom Line: I had a pleasant night but would not seek this place out again for hookah. I would be willing to come back for regular dinner based on the tastiness of...
Read moreI took my staff for Christmas dinner last night. If you like quiet and grand, this is a good place to share excellent food and hear the conversation without yelling like in really busy places. We ordered the MEZZA SAMPLER, extra WARAK ENAB, FALAFEL and one employee wolfed down that FRIED CAULIFLOWER - that was a big hit. The plate presentations and portions were perfect. The only thing I recommend is more mint and parsley herbs in the dishes to highlight those flavors. The menus were falling apart too, which tells me it a popular place. As for the expensive price comments, clearly some reviewers are not aware of the outrageous rents, permit, license, and staff expenses that take to offer such an experience in SF. To eat and be served in such a nice place cost $$. We pay extra for the experience, otherwise we can go in a hole...
Read moreVisited this place today. Although the food was good the service is terrible. For a group of 5 they gave just 2 plates. Had to manually walk to the counter and pick 3 plates and come to the table. When the food arrived gave just forks no knives. Asked for a side of hot sauce which they forgot to give. Reminded the manager still he didn't give it till the end.
During payment, the manager was forcing me to give 18% tip. I refused to which he replied that if I can't pay 18% tip I should not come to the restaurant.
I have visited arabian nights countless times before, this never was the case. If you want ur customer to pay u minimum 18% first be upfront about it. Make sure u give a good service instea dof bitching later.
NEVER STEPPING IN THIS...
