Bender's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in San Francisco

There's not to many amazing old school Rock bars in SF anymore. But Benders stands out, and smothers any outside cliches that may cross into its sacred sincere space. It seems to be about 25yrs old, but I'm sure it's about 15. The nostalgia built up on the walls of other amazing but dead bars of SF, gives it age and appeal to folks who were around, before and after the dot com boom suck the life out of us non techie folks, and the city landscape. The owner took it upon himself to salvage, the marquees of bars, which had a run at SF. And I can say, I been to them all, and when they gave up, it was sad. Seeing this artifacts bring a smile, and a rush of familiarity. Anyways, this bar is special and not for the faint of heart. You can pretty much seperate the real world, with the ones living in the fake one, just by the filter Benders provides. Bartenders great. Food...

Can't say authoritatively how good a bar this is, because I've never successfully gone to drink there -- I don't live close by and every time I set out to visit, I've only just arrived when I encounter a drunk friend (who's had a wonderful time) and now needs help getting home. So I slam down my one beer and help get them back to their place, which is never anywhere close by (see, they're even willing to come from halfway across town), and now I'm too juiced on samaritan-ness to head back for some decent self-annihilation. So I can't say firsthand that this is a good bar. But it seems to do such wonderful things to friends that I suspect...

Good hangout place especially for people who loves pool. I am not sure how crowded this place can be but we got a table and play several games when we arrived around 4 pm on Saturday. It is only 2 dollars a game and you can purchase food and drink easily. You can even go to play a pool without food, but you will feel like you want to support the business. And the food is legit! I got a burger and it is delicious. I wish the patty is bigger even if a higher price. Still it is a solid burger with bacon and cheese. Tater tots is also great, crispy from the outside, piping hot and soft inside. Definitely a good place to hang out...
